Forest resource is the important strategic resource, our country costs the huge investmentin the aspects of forest resource management, forest resource monitoring and datamanagement, thus improving the informatization level of the forest monitoring andmanagement information system, the formation of a scientific and rational forest resourcemonitoring system in forestry industry, become the focus of attention. This article analysedthe forest resources monitoring and management technology in our country, according to thecharacteristics of forestry data, expands the number of geographic information technology indata editing method; studies and improves the main forest resources data analysis theory, andapplying a component-based development technology to achieve; in the matter of data updatemodel, established a special topics Geodatabase, which is established based on data offlineediting of resource data updating mechanism, for ensuring forestry data privacy andtimeliness.In the developing of the system, using the ArcGIS Engine component of systemdeveloping technology, researched and developed a forest resources monitoring andmanagement system, which contains those several major functional modules including theforestry data editing processing, spatial database operation and maintenance, resourcemonitoring data update, outputting result. The application of this system, improve forestryunit data management efficiency, accelerate the construction process about "digital forestry"in our country.
