Studies On The Mossflora Of Ziwuling Nature Reserve

Ziwuling Nature Reserve is located in the border of Fu County of Shaanxi province and Gansu province, about 77km form Fu County, which belong to the Ziwuling Mountain. The Reserve lies between 108°30'--108°41'E and 35°45'--36°01'N. North to south about 27 km, and from east to west 24 km, with a total area of 40621 hm2. Maximum altitude 1687 m, the minimum altitude 1100 m.The reserve is the essence of biological diversity, known as a green pearl on the Loess Plateau, breeding a more abundant moss resources.Through field investigation and laboratory identification, the statistics of Mosses 41 genera 15 families and 94 species (including 1 variety,1 form) are found.3 newly record genera,8 newly record species,1 newly record variety are reported in the Loess Plateau. The group has a certain meaning in the moss species diversity distribution of Shaanxi province.On this basis, further statistics and analysis of Moss have done in the dominant family, genus, single family, genus and geographical elements to the Reserve. Among them Pottiaceae, Brachytheciaceae, Thuidiaceae, Bryaceae, Entodontaceae are the dominant family, the dominant genera are Brachythecium, Entodon, Barbula, Bryum, Anomodon, Thuidium. They are not only the components of the mosses, but also the suitable habitat type under the conditions of this Reserve. The presence of single family and genus indicates the Moss of the Reserve is ancient and less differentiation.The geographical elements of mossflora include 9 types in Ziwuling Nature Reserve, among them North Temperate element is absolute advantage, accounting for 45.88%; the second one is East Asia element, the percentage is 14.12%, and the third one is Endemic to China element, accounting for 11.76% in the total area. This showed the nature of the Reserve is North temperate zone in composition and flora of moss. It is a more complex area of geographical element in Shaanxi province.In order to better illustrate the relationship of mossflora among Ziwuling Nature Reserve and other areas, reveal the feature of mossflora of the Reserve, eight other adjacent regions are selected as the comparision with Ziwuling Nature Reserve, the regions include Foping Nature Reserve, Daweishan Nature Reserve and so on, made further comparison and analysis with Ziwuling Nature Reserve such as species abundance, polar ordination, cluster analysis and mossgeographic elements. The comparison and annlysis of polar ordination and cluster analysis revealed there is closer relationship among Pangquangou Nature Reserve Mt.Qilaotu, Mt.Xiaowutai and Ziwuling Nature Reserve, and distant relationship among Shennongjia Nature Reserve, Sangong River Valley, Mt. Emei and Ziwuling Nature Reserve. The relationship between Daweishan Nature Reserve and Ziwuling Nature Reserve is farthest. This study result is consistent with the devision of Bryoflora by Professor Chen Bangjie in 1963. Specific mossgeographical elements of the comparison shows that the existing and distribution of mosses are in the experience of migration and development in Ziwuling Nature Reserve.
