Abstract/Summary:
The taxonomy and biodiversity of Encyrtidae from Shanghai City are studied. For two years, over 5000 specimens were collected from greenfields and parks of thirteen districts, including Xuhui, Luwan,Yangpu, Pudong, Zhabei, Huangpu, Jingan, Changning, Minhang, Hongkou, Putuo, Baoshan and Chongming. The results of taxonomic research are summarized and listed in the following lines:1. The present paper deals with systematic study on Encyrtidae in Shanghai City. In this study,2 subfamilies, 17 genera and 39 species are found. Among them, 16 genus and 23 species are known, 1 species are firstly recorded from China, 1 genus and 16 species are described as new to science.2. A key to the genera of Encyrtidae in Shanghai City is also provided.3. The history review, diagnostic characters, category overview and biological characteristics of every genus involved are presented. The new key for species of each genus are simultaneously provided respectively.4. All the species concerned are described. The synonym, history review, collecting information, and geographical distribution of every species are discussed respectively. The characteristic diagrams for every species are also provided.5. A catalog of Encyrtidae from China is given.6. A database of the known species and genus of Encyrtidae from China is built, including: specific name, person name, years, type locality, host, history review, taxonomic characters, and so forth. In order to study the Present status of Encyrtids biodiversity in Shanghai city, we collected Encyrtids by Yellow plate method, Net sweeping method and Host feeding method at sampling sites which were setted in the Pittosporum tobira communities, Aucuba japonica communities and Bambusa multiplex communities of five parks from April to October, 2009. A total of 2183 Encyrtids individuals belonging to 2 subfamilies, 16 genus were collected. The biodiversity conclusions of this research are as follows:1. The differences of Encyrtids number and dominant groups between the various parks are significant. The number of Encyrtids in Renmin Park are more than the others. The dominant groups in the various parks were different.2. The differences of Encyrtids number and dominant groups between the various plants are significant. The number of Encyrtids in Bambusa multiplex communities are more than the others. The dominant groups in the various plants were different.3. The differences of Encyrtids communities structure between the various parks are significant. The similarity of Encyrtids communities between Changfeng Park and Daninglingshi Park is high. Shannon Wienner index and Pieloue evenness index in Changfeng Park and Daninglingshi Park are high, as well as Simpson dominance index is low; Encyrtids communities in Century Park is contrary.4. The differences of Encyrtids communities structure between the various plants are significant. The similarity of Encyrtids communities between Pittosporum tobira communities and Aucuba japonica communities is higher than the others. Shannon Wienner index and Pieloue evenness index of Encyrtids communities in Bambusa multiplex communities are high, as well as Simpson dominance index is low. Encyrtids communities in Pittosporum tobira communities is contrary.5. The differences of Encyrtids communities structure between the various seasons are significant. Shannon Wienner index and Pieloue evenness index in summer or autumn is higher than spring, but Simpson dominance index is low.The type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Plant Physiology & Ecology, SIBS, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai.
