Encyrtidae, which belongs to Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea, is one of the most important category in biological control. Due to the abundance of the specie and excellent parasitism, it is widely used in biological control in worldwide area and acquired good results. The systematic study of Encyrtidae in Northeastern China was rather poor, and no previous work was found up to now. The present paper deals with systematic study on Encyrtidae in Northeastern China, including Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning Provinces. 40 genera and 66 species were found in the study region totally. Among them, three genera and six species are firstly recorded from China and one genus and six species are described as new to science. The paper comprises two parts, introduction and systematics. In Part I, the taxonomic history and currant situation of studies in China are reviewed. Meanwhile the biology and the methods for collecting and preserving specimens are also briefly introduced. In Part II, detailed descriptions for new genus and new species are given, with related figs and photos. Keys to the genera and species of Northeastern China are also provided. All the synonymies, identification references, detailed characteristics and material examined are given and all the references are listed at the end of the paper. The present study is the first systematic review from Northeastern China, which is of great importance in enriching encyrtid natural enemy resources and in biological control in agriculture and forestry, providing primary base for further studies on the encyrtid species diversity. All the type specimens are deposited in Northeast Forestry University.
