With the development of the technology of computer and internet from the 1990s, it is a hot issue in the education field that the multimedia should be taken into the teaching areas. Multimedia has been more or less taken into each educational level from preschool education to college education. The concept of education also gradually takes place fundamental changes. A knowledgeable idea with creative and meaningful constructivism and idea of study become popular with the help of information technology. And then develop a new teaching concept based on the human being. During the procedure of teaching, teachers pay more attention to students'characters and personality, organize teaching activities from students'view. The teachers play roles just like an organizer, director, supporter or promoter in order to develop students'enthusiasm and initiative. Many physical teachers keep on trying to take multimedia into physics in collage, a basically course of science, to train students'abilities of self-study, discovering and analyzing of problems and sense of creativity. So they design many teaching courseware, whose quantity of information is higher and steps are quick, without considering students'receptivity enough. More teachers still remain in the level of passive use of courseware with the experience in mind, and do not explore the features of multimedia and characteristics of physics teaching. To achieve a better goal of physics teaching in multimedia, firstly, the study has detailed analysis on the whole and summary of the general principle, then illustrates the specific methods of teaching, at last, summarizes the results and experience by the specific cases. For the operation of collage physics teaching by multimedia, the teaching quantities in class should be controlled. Both the quantities of information and the quality of information should be emphasized. Then teachers make the teaching in order to make the procedure concise, clear and obvious and leave enough time for students to think and take notes so that they can master the teaching contents, meanwhile, the effects of teaching have been improved. The third one is that the teacher should have high teaching skills, skilled controls in class, enough and fitted teaching methods; the teacher should explain heuristic teaching and should resolve the key points and difficulties by feedback teaching. The fourth one is that the courseware should be clear and concise. Neither goes after complexities in format and technology nor put all contents and problems in the courseware. This makes students not catch the key points and difficulties and feel hard in learning. So then, it further influences the teaching efforts. Meanwhile, as the development of net, establishing the teaching methods of physics with net has become a new teaching research applied to the use of multimedia. Teacher integrates the teaching procedure, teaching contents, course resources, tutorial material and formative assessments into net courses. Students can find these teaching information and resources after they enter the net. They can also study, discuss, do homework, take the exams and get grades. Combination between collage physics and multimedia is to optimize the teaching procedure of physics as a serious basic course in collage. The technical way in the procedure is a supplementary method and make a decision in learning physics. The teacher should put the traditional teaching methods and multimedia together, learn from other's strong points to offset one's weakness for the purpose of optimization. As long as we explore constantly and practice the media to master its rules, features and ways ,deal with two questions regarding the teachers'dominances and combination between multimedia and traditional teaching correctly, we are able to develop the advantages of multimedia and explore its potential so that we make it better service in physics teaching.
