The present dissertation deals with the taxonomy of Gerridae from Mongolian Plateau. Fifteen species belonging to 4 genera, 2 subfamily of Gerridae are recorded from Mongolian Plateau, including 1 new species (Gerris fuscatus sp. nov.), 2 species first record from Mongolian (Aquarius paludum paludum (Fabricius, 1794), Gerris gibbifer Schummel, 1832) and 1 species first record from China (Gerris gibbifer Schummel, 1832). Phallotheca and apex of abdomen of male and female are illustrated. New species and new-recorded species are described and some species formerly described from Inner Mongolia are revised. The faunistic analysis of Mongolian Plateau Gerridae displayed that the Palaeartic species dominate among all species, the species only belonging to Palaeartic 10, occupy 66.67 percent. 4 joint species are confined in Palaeartic and Oriental, accounting for 26.67%. One joint species are confined in Nearctic and Palaearctic, accounting for 6.67%. The analysis of similarity of species between Inner Mongolia and Mongolia shows that the similarity index is 0.4667.
