With the acceleration of the urbanization process and the rapid growth of spatial information,a huge flow of information was collected.There are different data sources and unstandard and diverse formats,which brings tremendous difficulties to manage and maintenance data.The information system in Urban Construction Management based on WebGIS has not only the features of data standardization, facilitate updating and maintenance data,graphic information integration,but also information sharing which is the advantages of Internet.In this paper,based on the comparative analysis of the development platform of WebGIS,GeoServer platform of Hongzhi Li(who is Associate Professor in East China Normal University) was used in developing Information System in urban construction management,which not only meeting user's needs but also cost savings. According to system requirements analysis,the information system in urban construction management based on WebGIS was established,with the feature of appliance.Its main content as follows:firstly,preprocess data,integration of multiple data sources,convert CAD to GIS data.Secondly,according to requirements analysis of system and features of data,the database of system was designed and the module of system was distributed rationally.Thirdly,the CSS was used to embellish web page so that the system has good interface.At last,the system functions were achieved by programming.The features of the system as follows:(1) The system has a good effect of interaction because of using Ajax asynchronous communication technologies.(2) The data updating and maintenance become easy by integration of a variety of data sources and data standardization.(3) To the main of map,the functions were completed,which were conditions inquiry,spatial location,different way of selecting features,calculate distance and area, thematic and so on. (4) It has advantage of Web,in other words,user can access through the network to achieve a real sense of information sharing.
