By comparing the analysis of the final exam's grades of Class one in 2004 which use the textbook of higher mathematics of the 3rd edition by Sichuan University with that of Class one in 2007 which use that of the 5th edition by Tongji University. This essay, guided by the classical surveying theory and the relevant theory of education statistics and education survey, makes a comparative analysis of the students' grades in two classes in its reliability, difficulty, efficiency and difference by using the statistics software of Excel and SPSS 11.5 and makes a qualitative analysis of the students' appraisal. Based on the research and the evaluation of the teachers who have used the two textbooks, this essay aims at finding the suitable textbook of higher mathematics between the two editions of textbooks.This essay aims at offering help for choosing the right textbook for the major of computer science in our college in order to improve the teaching quality of higher mathematics.
