Architecture Design And Development Management Of A City Region Oriented VRGIS Platform

VRGIS is an important component of digital city. It is also an advanced research area of GIS (Geographic Information System).Development of city region oriented VRGIS platform involves many substrate supporting techniques such as the way of integration of VR (Virtual Reality) and GIS, Massive data organization and management, software architecture design and so on.This dissertation studies the components and characteristics of VR and GIS. Meanwhile, some method of software architecture design is proposed. 4.Project managementThe steps of software development management is discussed, some aspect of the process should and experiences of develop the VRGIS platform is given.Through out the research of above, a platform of VRGIS is completed, which can be used in various field such as city plan, antique protection, production exhibition, etc. From the construction of a virtual city,the first practice of the platform is successfully realized.
