With the improvement of oil-field information management and the development of computer graphics,space information technology,as well as related disciplines,it is possible that oil field can be displayed by three-dimensional technology and managed in terms of information using VRGIS (Virtual Reality Geographic Information System).VRGIS is the combination of virtual reality technology(VR) and geographic information systems(GIS),which combines the visual characteristic of VR and spatial analysis capability of GIS,that VR can achieve visualization close to the reality and GIS provides plenty space information.VRGIS is one of the hot spots and frontier directions for recent research of VR technology and GIS,which can be used to reproduce or build the scene and environment that does not exist.On the basis of such research background,in view of the actual needs of the fourth Oil Production Plant of Changqing Oilfield,the project designed and developed the digital oil application system,which can support the acquirement and management of spatial information. Based on space data,it can do overlay analysis with space and attribute data,so users can obtain information that concemed about conveniently and quickly.Through the function of model auto-generated and three-dimensional processing module,it also enables the visualized presentation and analysis,thereby providing convenient and efficient methods for leaders' decisions.As a technical system of supporting the digital acquirement,management and application for spatial oriented information,Digital Oil(DO) will exert more important influence on the process of economy informationization with the skyrocketing development of computer technology,space technology and modern information infrastructure.Took the fourth oil production plant of Changqing oil field for example,a three-dimensional, dynamic and visualized software system was built using Digital Elevation Model(DEM),Digital Ortho-photo Map(DOM),spatial data of oil exploration and attribute data,which contained many kinds of information related to oil field.Based on the VB(Visual Basic) program language and made use of the Terra Builder and Terra Explorer Pro software which produced by the Skyline Software Company,the system can achieve the functions as follows:Firstly,the reflection of the terrain is the same as the true field.The information is clear at a glance,such as the rivers,vegetation,traffic and residential area,etc;the infrastructure is shown in three dimensions,such as the buildings,roads,electric circuitry and pipeline,the true scene will be recurred to the users;Secondly,the terrain,physiognomy and related geology associated with the position of infrastructure are directly exposed and browsed,such as the roads,electric circuitry,pipe laying, water pipe,oil extraction and watering equipment;through the link to the existed database about oil field prospecting and exploitation,the related attribute information can be inquired,such as the test well,evaluation well,deployment well,the third class storage area,work place of oil extraction,well station,station of convergence and distribution,pipe laying and ground construction and so on;Thirdly,the random zoom and roam in three-dimensional model are achieved,the flight can be stimulated,the observation and analysis on the targets in all directions can be operated,users also can decide the position of special objects and flight routes by themselves,the information can be obtained once again by browsing the information tree;Fourthly,the well,station and plant,position of engineer etc,can be stimulated and designed in visual scene,the routes can be selected and planned;Fifthly,the horizontal,vertical and spatial distance can be measured on the map,the routine space analysis in three dimensions can be operated,which includes generating contour line and terrain section plane,analysis on best route,overlook analysis,visual threshold and perilous area analysis etc;By integrating remote sensing(RS),geographic information systems(GIS) and visual reality (VR) into a constructed system,Digital Oil(DO) has the overwhelming advantage to the conventional two-dimensional geographic information systems(GIS),will play positive role in the aspects of optimized configuration of oil-field resource,comprehensive treatment of environment and utilization of local land.The main work of the thesis is as follows:Firstly,the conceptions of visual geographic environment and visual geographic information systems(GIS) are introduced,the actual state of research throughout the world and the background of the thesis are summarized,the research motive and significance of the project are illuminated emphatically,the main technique flow chart of the project is demonstrated;Secondly,Collection and Arrangement of the Data.To manifest the traits of digital oil(DO),it is necessary to collect image data,terrain data,model data,many kinds of text and data from database.So standardizing the data format,scrutinizing the data style and perfecting the database are the main task in the phase.Because of the huge amount of data,the consuming time is longer,the work is hard and arduous;Thirdly,Construction of Digital Oil(DO).At first,the inquiry and browse of the DO information need to combine image data with attribute data,which is completed by linking to the related database.So the project used Access2003 to creat database,in the meanwhile,because of the research area locates in the loess plateau in Shann'xi province,the gullys can be founded everywhere in the area,the physiognomy of loess plateau,the terrain is complex.So appending terrain data to the image data will place oneself in the place absolutely close to the true environment,which is the main reason to choose Skyline as software platform.For the sake of prominently displaying the objects on the surface,(such as oil extraction plants,oil collection station and watering station,etc),moreover, in order to facilitate the users to inquire,browse and register the production data,the three dimensional model should be imported.At last,all the data should be integrated,then the guaranty of the fluency in browsing data to the uttermost is one of the emphases and difficulties technically in the case that the accuracy of data is not affected;Fourthly,the project used VB language and utilized Skyline software platform to develop, implemented 3DGIS integration,then constructed the oil field information management system, which integrated inquiry,correction,refreshing and statistical analysis on data information of oil extraction engineer into a body.TerraExplorePro offerred a set of API(Application Programming Interface) for developing.The system adopted Browser/Server mode,which will build the system on three layers that includes data servers,application servers and browsers.Data servers are responsible for the data access especially,application servers offer many kinds of service module to visit data servers and response to the request from client terminals,browsers display the results and sent out the request.The system maintenance in this mode is rather simple,the system modification and update are operated only on servers,so users can manipulate easily;Fifthly,the application of the system establishment in actual production,as well as the combination of the system with bussiness system and bussiness operation of enterprise are illustrated by examples,at the same time,the real response of enterprise to the system and the real benefit from the system to the enterprise modernization are demonstrated;Sixthly,Summarization and Expectation.With the development of the research,VRGIS (Virtual Reality Geographic Information System) will be applied in more fields extensively,which will promote professional GIS(geographic information systems) to develop into social GIS and enterprise GIS,then the new system will exert practical influence at its maximum.
