Information has to be a kind of most resources in the society. It is also an important factor of ensuring the development of our society information and national economy. The storage and management of spatial data is the foundation of the building of spatial database. So, studying a more advanced geography data model will be the development trend of Geography Information System. An advanced geography data model should have the characters of truly reflecting the world, having intelligence and managing spatial data by high efficiency. There are three generation spatial data models: the CAD model,the Coverage model, as well as the third model of Geodatabase which was entirely based on Object- Relational Data Base Management System. The merits of each spatial data model comparing with the prior model wholly embody these aspects.Taiyuan Active Fault Surveying and Earthquake Risk Assessment Project include spatial data, attribute data, image, literature and reports and so on. So there have some problems in project, such as data management, data storage and data accessing. In this thesis, there are important problems to be resolved according to GIS and computer technology.In this paper the Seismic-geology data model, Geophysical data model of Taiyuan urban active fault surveying project are designed and presented at the first time based on spatial data model implement method and technology scheme. At the same time, database structure table of the active fault surveying project information system is implemented in detail according to the application of professional data models. Then, the active fault surveying information management system is established based on the ArcGIS Engine and there are many functions to be realized, which are data query and display, data edition and management as well as exploration data expression about the geography information Seismic-geology investigate data, geophysical exploration information and so on. This software system will be recognized as an availability tool to manage and analyze data of active fault surveying project.In this paper, the researching and developing actuality of spatial database technology was introduced firstly. And on the basis of description about the Geodatabase model in detail gives the particular design scheme of the database. Finally, make use of the secondary development way of ArcGIS software building the Taiyuan active fault surveying project database management system, achieving the multi-active fault surveying project database management effectively. It had be proved is effective to manage the active fault surveying project database by this method, and it promoted the development of the active fault surveying project greatly.
