Along with the rapid development of the scientific,the popularization of information technology and the diffusion of geographic information systems into practical stage, the surveying basic theory, technical system, product pattern, surveying security means, have undergone a fundamental change. Meanwhile, the data scale involved in the production process is becoming ever larger, moreover the frequency of present map data renewing speeds up obviously. Traditional surveying production depends mainly on people's subjective initiative, and this has been unable to meet the requirements of digital production in the pattern and efficiency of management.How to monitor, dispatch, and format the management of massive data in production process and digital product production process effectively using the modem management method is question which the production unit and the superintendent urgently need to solve.This article takes the Zhangjiajie survey team's surveying management information system as an example, introduces in detail the design principle of the system, the architecture, the main function,the contact surface design,the database design, the interface design,the operating design,the data security control as well as the development standard, applies the GIS technology into the surveying production management, depends upon the networking technology, he database technology, the work flow technology as well as the data survey and the entire line product and technology to realize information resource sharing of various departments of surveying unit, fully utilize existing resources, improve work efficiency to realize the management modernization, the office automation and the policy-making scientific style. The system is actually an integration of MIS, GIS, and OA technology, therefore the functional and technical aspects has a very strong advantage. The implementation of the system has provided enormous convenient for the Zhangjiajie surveying team's surveying production.
