Reading is an important activity in human society life. It is not only the important way to know the world and get information, but also humanity's most general and lasting study method. In education activities, reading is the foundation of getting knowledge, enhancing ability and promoting quality. It is the indispensable key tache to cultivate each kind of talented person. Reading ability is an important attribute of learning capability, so learning to study must learn to read."The Chinese Big Encyclopedia" (education) thought reading is a psychology process of obtaining the significance from printed or written lansign. Reading is also a kind of basic intelligence skill, which is the precondition to succeed in studies. It is the summation of a series of processes and the behavior constitution. In fact, reading is a kind of strategy, which includes goal establishment, strategy choice and process monitoring. In general, reading is not only the intelligence skill, but also a kind of cognition activity.Mathematics reading refers to the psychology process in which the main body obtains the meaning from the written mathematical language and transform as the psychological token. The process includes sensation, understanding, memory and such kind of psychological activities.Mathematics reading may Not only promote the high vocational students' quality thought, but also may enhance them to study independently and improve their cognition ability. It can even develop the high vocational students' affection diathesis. Training mathematics reading ability is essential and practical for them.After reading a wide range of mathematics reading materials concerned, the author combines her teaching experience with the research fruits, put concepts of mathematics reading in order, and summarize features of mathematics reading. Then the paper discusses necessity and possibility of mathematics reading in vocational colleges. In the author's eyes, teaching of mathematics reading in vocational colleges is not only possible but also necessary.
