With the development of GIS technology and computer graphics, currently, construction and visualization of 3D Model is becoming the internal and abroad hotspot. 3D UGIS has been an important field of GIS application, and the visualization and spatial analysis of 3D Urban Model is very important to city construction city planning and management etc.3D UGIS is the GIS system that all spatial objects in city can be described and analyzed in real 3D. Most UGIS software at present has only the ability to store, manage, query, analyze, display spatial data in 2 D, 3D phenomena can not be handled by 2D UGIS. The pressing demand for 3D UGIS brings on a lot of national and international research works about 3D UGIS.The core of this thesis is the research on SDM (Spatial Data Model) based on 3D UGIS System. In this thesis, we introduce the concept, architecture and principle of the SDM in details. In order to solve the problem of integration of multi-source spatial data, this dissertation presents a conception of SIMSD (Seamless Integration of Multi-source Spatial Data) which realizes the direct access of multi-source spatial data with a virtual spatial data engine.In this thesis, City 3D visualization is one main function of 3D UGIS. On the basis of the summing up of the means for 3D reconstruction of the Urban Landscape models at present, the paper introduces basic operation theory about OpenGL and building methods for 3D cityscape models firstly, then, introduces the technology of the 3D modeling for buildings based on OpenGL. With the practical experimental data of certain district in Shanghai, the author uses Visual C++ and OpenGL to realize the 3D urban landscape visualization.Otherwise, the combination of 3D UGIS, Web technology and the Virtual Reality (VR) technology is the tendency of further standard file format.The Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) defines the transform of 3D data in the Internet and it can also effectively resolve the conflictbetween the data bandwidth and the handling ability.
