Urban geographic information system (UGIS) is an important component of digital city. Nowadays, various departments in many cities have constructed various geographic information systems. But those systems are independent, and they cannot share spatial data and analysis models. Therefore, we cannot make full use of those resources. In order to share information, save resources and reduce workload, we studied on the key technologies of the integration of geographic information systems. To develop spatial analysis models and construct spatial database according to standards is significant to constructing urban geographic information system. To solve the problems about the integration of GIS, we studied GIS standards, the integration of spatial data and analysis models. On the aspect of standards, we brought forward the standards' system of UGIS and analyzed some present standards; on the aspect of the integration of spatial data, we discussed the methods of the integration of spatial data, and researched on topology and ArcSDE; and on the aspect of the integration of analysis models, we discussed the technology of COM and studied on ArcObjects. And we demostrated how to integrate spatial and analysis models based the work of developing the model applications of digital Shanghai. Those models developed in that project can be integrated in ArcGis easily. This paper consists of six chapters. Chapter one is preface. It outlines the significance of the research, the technology frame and some related studies. Chapter two is the standardization of GIS. It put forward the standards' system of GIS, and analyzes some present standards. Chapter three is the integration of spatial data. It researches on the methods of data integration and the technologies of spatial database, and introduces ArcSDE how to save and integrate spatial data in detail. Chapter four is the integration of analysis models in GIS. It studies the related knowledge of COM, how to use VB and ArcObjects to develop components, and how to integrate the components into ArcMap. Chapter five is the case of the integration of GIS. It discusses how to construct the spatial database of Shanghai, and how to integratevarious applications, and introduces the models of the change analysis of points, lines and polygon. Chapter six summarizes our works and brings forward what is going to do next. There are two innovative aspects: analyzes the topologies of the features in urban geographic information systems and advanced the standards of constructing spatial database; developed models of creating grid map, the change analysis of point, line, polygon, and those models can be integrated in ArcGIS easily.
