The Technology Of Constructing J2EE-based WebGIS Server

Geographical Information System (GIS) is an information system which stores analyzes and visually express spatial data . With the development of Internet ,WebGIS can Provide not only simple text and data,but also graphics and images to more and more people. WebGIS is the outcome of Internet development and information sharing . However, many traditional GIS software adopts file-based data organization, which only publishes GIS data less than 10M. The technology of publishing mass vector and image database is not mature, which has strictly restricted the share of mass spatial data.The paper firstly describes the concept, applications and development process of GIS, points out the effects of Internet, and introduces the concept of WebGIS. After analysing and comparing several realization technique and empolder methods , our group bring forward a sort of WebGIS solution project which is based on J2EE groupware. This solution have a few merits,such as rapid working speed powerful function and independent of browser. The paper describes the implement of the new solution, including the architecture, the organization of spatial data, and the main components in all tiers of the system.Has the archery target based on Internet environment WebGis and traditional tabletop GIS and local area Intranet GIS is different.
