Land Use/Cover Change Dynamic Survey By 3S

In this paper, two phases of Landsat TM data of 1988 and 2000 and one phase of Landsat ETM data of 2002 are used, and adapt the technology method of Remote Sensing (RS), Geography Information System(GIS) and Global Position System(GPS).As an example ,Wulanchabu city has been investigated by dynamic monitoring and analytical research of land use/cover change (LUCC).Moreover, the land use/cover development and the variation tendency for ten years of Wulanchabu city are analyzed and predicted by introducing the Model of Markov and the three indexes of LUDI, LUD and LUC, then study the driving force factors which influence LUCC. In the end, I put forward the solutions to the existing problems of LUCC.The first chapter introduces some basic problems to the theory of land use/cover change. Above all, gives the definitions of land use and land cover change, then analyzes the mutual relationship of them, and on this basis, explains the research range, the main content and the focal problems of LUCC, as well as the importance and the function of LUCC in the global change, the last part mainly discusses the research development and tendency of LUCC.In the second chapter, the technology of 3S integration and its application in LUCC are mostly told of, which mainly includes the meaning, the combinative mode and the application of RS, GIS and GPS.In the third chapter, the process of extracting the information of land use/cover change in Wulanchabu city are introduced, in addition, with the aid of RS and GIS, I have made the map of LUCC in 1988, 2000 and 2002.The mainly content of the fourth chapter is, by analyzing the data, obtaining thecharacters and the problems of LUCC in Wulanchabu city and working out the LUDI, LUD and LUC. Finally, by the model of Markov, I have predict tendency of LUCC in Wulanchabu city.By analyzing, the whole characteristic of LUCC in Wulanchabu city is the plantation and the unused land area have reduced distinctly, the grassland, the woodland, the water area, the residential area and the diggings have increased rapidly, and the changing rate of land use is rising since the year of 2000; moreover, there are still some problems in the land use of Siziwangqi, Huade county, Shangdu county and etc.. The tendency of land use in this region is the grassland, the woodland, the residential area and the diggings will increase; the plantation, the water area and the unused land will reduce, the structure of land use is becoming reasonable and optimized.In the future, the land use of Wulanchabu city would keep to some rules, which mainly including protecting the plantation, improving the grassland, enhancing the woodland and controlling the land optimized by buildings, adjust measures to local conditions, urging the development of the land use, the society and economics to become harmonious and sustainable.
