The Study And Construction Of Component Geographic Information System Based On MapObjects

Component software technology has become one of most significant methods of software technology nowadays. At the moment, revolutionary change has took place in Geographic Information System(GIS).The changes is as follows: users can develop GIS softwares themselves by using GIS components provided by GIS software companies instead of using GIS softwares whose all functions provided by GIS software companies. Undoubtedly component Geographic Information System software technology will greatly affect on technology architecture and application pattern of all Geographic Information System. Developing GIS softwares by using GIS component can promote efficiency and contribute to the application of GIS. Firstly,the thesis introduced the definition, characteristics,usages,appearance and trend of GIS.And then the thesis lay emphasis on the component technology and component Geographic Information System software technology, such as the characteristics,aspects,and development of component Geographic Information System.Then thesis particularly study the characteristics, development and construction of component Geographic Information System,and design the structure of Geographic Information System for Sustainable Usage of Groundwater in Tulufan Area in Xinjiang,including system architecture,modules design.At the end,the Geographic Information System for Sustainable Usage of Groundwater in Tulufan Area in Xinjiang was done after datum collection,standard definition,code compiling and software program testing. The system architecture is Client/Server pattern,which can effectively solve the problem of users'authorization and management, software program management,data management and synchronization.Mircosoft SQL Sever 2000 database software program provide client with data which are setuped in server and managed by ArcSDE(Spital Data Engine software program).The client are build by Mapobjects(Geographic Information System component) in Mircosoft Visual Basic.Users can make requests in clients,and the server feedback the results to the client.
