Research And Development Of Rural Cadastral Management Information System At County Level Based On MapObjects

As a intersectional science, GIS (Geographic Information System) is erected on the base of computer science, topograghy, remote sensing, geograghy, environment science, spatial science, information and managing science. Now, GIS is drawing more and more people's attention and used widely in urban planning, market management, resourse research, environment monitoring and analysis, land resourse management, forest monitoring and management, estimating the yield of crops, fire alarming,traffc and safety management, electrical net management and so on.Cadastral management information system benefits managing jillion and multi-time- phase spatial data and corresponding attribute data. It is a necessary instrument to current management land and certain result of digital land engineering.In this article, the author reviews the history of the progresses in GIS secondary developing methods in brief. The component object-oriented model based on COM, OLE and ActiveX are the trend and directions of the secondary develop of GIS.The author illustrates how to use the object oriented technique of MapObjects and took method of developing for example. Furthermore, the application of the property, event and method of common component are also described. Supported by visual basic and the functions of analysis and process provided by the spatial data in component, the information system of Jingmen is established. By means of case study of the development of software for the rural cadastral information system in Jingmen, the framework, database functions and features of the system are elaborated.The system architecture is client/server pattern, which effectively solve the problem of users' authorization and management, software program management, data management synchronization. Mircosoft SQL Sever 2000 database software program provides client with data which are set up in server and managed by ArcSDE (Spital Data Engine). The client are built by Mapobjects (Geographic Information System component) in Mircosoft Visual Basic. Most users not familiar with the knowledge of complicated concept and operation of GIS, can use this system freely. The application of MapObjects is a new research field of GIS and enlarges the scope of GIS application. Geodatabase is a new object-oriented data model of managing and organizing data.
