In the course of introducing physics to our country, physics played an important role in physics education,physics words,physics textbooks and so on. The book is written by T.Ihamori, translated by Fujida and reedited by Wang Jilie. This thesis investigates deeply into the Chinese edtion of physics, and analyses its whole content and compares it with the Japanese one. By this, we can not only know about some details in Chinese reception of modern physics, but also understand the modernization of physics and the early development of physics in our country. This thesis introduced the writer T.ihamori, the translator Fujida and the reeditor Wang Jilie detailly by homeland and abroad materials. By comparing physics with gewurumen which was popular in 1970s, we can find out that physics includes plenty of physics knowledge and illustration and its constitution is good logical. By investingating the Japanese edition of physics, this thesis have conformed the original edition of the Chinese edition and have pointed out the differences between them. The Chinese translation of physics terms was very important in the modernization of Chinese physics. the Chinese edition physics not only brought in advanced and systematic knowledge but also founded some Chinese physics terms. By analysing and comparing physics words in Japanese original edition and the Chinese edition of physics, the vocabulary of physics terms and modern English—Chinese physics dictionary, The thesis get some concludes :There are 519 English physics words in the Chinese edition of physics ; the used ratio of these words is 24.28%; the used ratio of these words is 32.17% in physics words published by Qing Ministry of Education. By investigating on the collection of physics and analyzing the book first named physics , the author affirms the important contributions of the Chinese edition of physics in Chinese physics modernization.
