Taxonomic Study On Deltocephalini (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) From China

The thesis is a taxonomic study on the leafhopper tribe Deltocephalini from China. It includes the following parts: introduction, review of its taxonomic history, materials and methods, morphology, taxonomic characteristics, biology, Geographical distribution, the economic importance, taxonomy, discussion. Firstly, the research history of Deltocephalini both worldwide and Chinese fauna is reviewed. In the morphological part, the taxonomical characters and terms are outlined. Moreover, the biology, biogeography and economic importance of Deltocephalini are summarized. Totally, 50 species of 11 genera in the tribe Deltocephalini are recognized, of which 31 species and 4 genera are new to science, 5 species and 1 genus are newly recorded from China. Keys are given to all the genera and species. The male genitalia of all the new species are illustrated. Finally, problems on the taxonomy of Deltocephalini are discussed. Recilia jianfengensis, Recilia leptecesa, Recilia orchisa, Recilia phasganona, Recilia pileiformis, Recilia planula, Recilia rema, Recilia rotunda, Recilia sella, Recilia snaca, Recilia tuberclama, Recilia xanthisma, Recilia (?)ixiangchiensis, Sepes collum , Sepes fortis and Sepes tenuis.New record of genus: Ctenurella.New records of species: Ctenurella palludosa, Paramesodes annamae, Reciliacoronifera, Recilia heuksandoensis, Recilia horvathi.The type specimens of the new species are deposited separately in the Northwest A & F University (NWAFU) , Institute of Zoology, Academic Sinica (IZCAS) , Zhongshan University (ZSU), Agricultural University of China (CAU), which are indicated under each specimen.
