Taxonomy Of Macropsinae From China And Its Adjacent Countries (Hemiptera:Cicadellidae)

The thesis is a taxonomic study on the subfamily Macropsinae.The current situation of China and its adjacent countries are overviewed;Detailed conclusion on tribe and genus are given;Brief introduction on materials and methods used in the research is presented;Morphology terminology commonly used in the taxonomy of the subfamily Macropsinae,biology and economic importance are introduced;Geographical distribution of Chinese Macropsinae are analyzed.Forty-five species of eight genera of the subfamily Macropsinae are recognized,of which three genera and six species are newly recorded from China,twelve species(five of them have been published)are new to science.Keys are given to all the genera,subgenera and species included.Photos are taken for all the species.Male genitalia of all the new species recorded and some other species are illustrated.References,checklist of genera and species,index to both Chinese and scientific names,figures,acknowledgements and CV of the author are attached at the end of the paper.The new records and new taxa are listed as follows:New-record genera:Macropsidius Ribaut,n.rec.,Hephathus Ribaut,n.rec.,Varicopsella Hamilton,n.rec..New-record species:Macropsis ocellata Provancher,n.rec.,Macropsidius niger Matsumura,n.rec.,Macropsidius duuschulus Dlabola,n.rec.,Hephathus freyi Fieber,n.rec.,Hephathus nanusSchaffer,n.rec.,Varicopsella breakeyi(Merino),n.rec..New species:Macropsis helanshanensis,Macropsis lathrus,Macropsis alillus,Oncopsis hongpingensis,Oncopsis fnunta,Oncopsis ordiforma,Pedionis(Pedionis)tribrachyblasta,Pedionis(Pedionis)dentiforma,Pedionis(Pedionis)dinghuensis,Pediopsoides(Celopsis)montaninversa,Pediopsoides(Pediopsoides)anchorides,Pediopsis bannaensis spp.nov..The type specimen of the new species are deposited in the Northwest A&F University(NWAFU).
