Myrmeleontidae are the largest family of Neuroptera, with about 2000 species distributed throughout the world. 33 genera and over 100 species were reported in China. The present paper deals with Dendroleontini from China. The research history and progress of taxonomy on Myrmeleontidae in the world are briefly reviewed, the biological and general morphological characters of Myrmeleontidae are explained. The tribe Dendroleontini from China contains 27 species in 6 genera, including 6 new species 8 new combination. 6 new species: Epacanthaclisis lirovittanus sp. n., Epacanthaclisis ningshamts sp. n., Franzenia flowerica sp. n., Layahima fuscpterwn sp. n., Layahima tongmainus sp. a, Layahima yangii sp. n.; 8 new combination: Epacanthaclisis minanus (Yang), Epacanthaclisis maculates (Yang), Epacanthaclisis maculosus (Yang), Gatzara angulineura (Yang), Gatzara decorilla (Yang), Gatzara qiongana (Yang), Layahima validum (Yang), Layahima wuzhishanus (Yang). Two genera, Franzenia and Nepsalus, are recorded for the first time in China.A key to subfamilies of Myrmeleontidae and a key to tribes of Myrmeleontinae are provided. Keys to the genera and species of Dendroleontini are given. In the part of discussion, study of biology in taxonomy of Dendroleontini are emphasized, status of study in Bullanga and phylogeny of Layahima are reviewed, some problems in application of diagnosis character in Myrmeleontidae are presented. There are two appendixes: one is the Dendroleontini system and numbers of genera and species in Dendroleontini before 2001 world-widely; another is the check list of tribe Dendroleontini from China. The types of new species are deposited in the Insect Collection of China Agricultural University and the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
