Taxonomic Research On Thaumatosmylus, Lysmus, Heterosmylus From China (Insecta: Neuroptera: Osmylidae)

The present paper is a thesis for the degree of MS, which deals with the taxonomy of the genera Heterosmylus, Lysmus, Thaumatosmylus from China.In this paper, the general morphological and biological characters of Osmylidae are given. 24 species belonging to 3 genera Heterosmylus, Lysmus, Thaumatosmylus are described, including 10 new species: Heterosmylus hyalinus sp.nov.; Lymus canimaclatus sp.nov.; Lymus orchraceus sp.nov.; Lymus bimaculatus sp.nov.; Lymus tianpingus sp.nov.; Lymus urtcus sp.nov.; Thaumatosmylus curtus sp.nov.; Thaumatosmylus luteistriolatus sp.nov.; Thaumatosmylus tricornus sp.nov.; Thaumatosmylus yangi sp.nov..The distribution of 3 genera are investigated and analyzed.The differences of important characters in 3 genera and phylogeny of them are discussed, the subfamily characters of Protosmylinae and Lymus are emphasized.The types of species are deposited in the Insect Collection of China Agricultural University.
