With the revolution of the national basic education, Shanghai launched the second-phase curriculum reformation and issued the Shanghai Ordinary Primary and Secondary Courses Program (Draft). On the basis of the national classification of courses that there are three courses:required courses, elective courses and comprehensive practical courses, Shanghai courses also divided into three parts: basic courses, expending courses and researching courses. Now, the secondary schools in Shanghai carried out the three courses. So, it demands overall development of normal students. Teaching practice has played an important role in training of normal students. However, at present the emphases of biology teaching practice is on basic courses, there is no special requirements and implementation on the other two types of those courses. In the progress of actual teaching practice, the normal students only take part in the basic courses teaching. It leads to the phenomena that the normal students are good at the basic courses teaching while poor at teaching the expending and researching courses. So, it is key issues for biology normal students to improve the ability of teaching in the expending and researching courses.Accordingly, this paper is to analyze and discuss the basic theory and practical experiences in the teaching practice, which trains the biology normal students to improve the teaching ability of expending and researching courses. Some methods is used in the research, such as documents, questionnaires, interviews and case tracking. We analyze some research papers about classification of basic education courses, the concept and construction of teaching ability, the training of teaching ability for biology normal students. We also survey the status of the teaching ability about those students, and design the teaching practice scheme of that can improve the teaching ability of expending and researching courses. Combining the tracking investigation about the teaching practice progress and interviews, we summarize the weakness and advantages in this progress.The results show that there is obvious difference between the new courses standard of Shanghai and the normal students'teaching ability in the field of expending and researching courses. At the same time, the teaching practice scheme of expending and researching courses designed in this research can obviously improve the normal students'teaching ability.On the basis of the research, we propose some suggestions:firstly, changing the traditional teaching intern method, building those three courses theory systems; secondly, perfecting the system of teaching intern systems; thirdly, strengthening instructor policy and so on.
