Study On Vernacular Landscape Of Miao Nationality Autonomous County Settlements In Chengbu

The vernacular landscape is "the landscape designed by the local residents", by using the local inheritance technology with the local natural materials,which is accordance to the local natural environment with the user-friendly criterion and the local custom.In a word,the vernacular landscape is a kind of coordinate symbiosis between the local residents and its natural environment, natural resource, and traditional technology.Chengbu miao nationality autonomous county is Located in the south border of Xiangxi,with the high mountains and precipitous ridges and the rich creek and river,which is of mountain climate with excellent climatic conditions, rich natural resources and tourism resources.The local residents created the unique landscape with the characteristics of dairly production and life in the process of promoting their existing natural environment,that is the vernacular landscape in Chengbu miao nationality habitation region,in order to satisfying their own substance and spirit.The vernacular landscape in Chengbu miao nationality habitation region mainly consists of the natural environmen factor,the social environment factor and the humanistic environment factor. The natural environmen factor,like the climate, the soil, the water, the plant and the animal,and the social environment factor,like the close affinity factores for the social production relations and for the social productivity, both are the foundation of it. The humanistic environment factor,like the nature and human unites thought, the religious consciousness and the geomancy idea,is the connotation of it.By field research,the author summarized the four main characteristics of it:the natural environment characteristic, the habitation village characteristic, the village architectural characteristic, and the village plant characteristic. The vernacular landscape is the cultural property in Chengbu miao nationality habitation region,as the four main characteristics are accodance to each other, that of a earth broad and profound feeling, with the rich river system, the vegetation and the biofacies, and with a obvious seasonal change,a pleasant landscape scale and a choronic aged beauty.This article has carried on the evaluation from the esthetic sense aspect to the vernacular landscape in Chengbu miao nationality habitation region, proposed that it can be evaluated from the naturalness, uniqueness, the environmental aspect, the orderliness, the visual multiplicity and motility.Finally, the author discusses the inspiration and the practice to the residential district landscape design by applyig the vernacular landscape in Chengbu miao nationality habitation region, taking the example of a residential district landscape design in Changsha.
