individuals.In reality,all Chinese citizens are working hard to pursue a better life,to build China into a great modern socialist country and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Both the "innovation-driven" development strategies and the progress of labor intelligence are placing higher requirements for the comprehensive ability of the laborers.It has become a pressing task in the ideological and political education sector to foster a united,hard-working and innovative spirit in the laborers.This topic is a theoretical and realistic juncture of labor education and ideological and political education.Although the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have attached great importance to labor education,and made labor part of the all-around development education,the lack of theoretical research and concrete measures have led to many issues.The discipline of ideological and political education fails to fully explore the values of labor in moral education or the mechanism on how labor contributes to the ideological and moral development of individuals.Focusing on the topic of "moral education through labor",this paper discusses the values of labor in moral education and the mechanism behind it,taking Marxism and ideological and political education as the theoretical guide,and labor activities as the practice basis.The goal is to achieve the collaborative innovation of labor education and ideological and political education.This research not only enhances the appeal and role of ideological and political education but helps train talents in an all-around way.By engaging in labor,individuals will acquire stronger labor skills and noble morality,and invest all their wisdom and enthusiasm in the realization of the Chinese dream.Clarifying the essential connotation,characteristics and value related to moral education through labor is the first front of this research.This part begins with the sub-concepts of labor,education,morality,and then fully explains the connotation of moral education through labor.Distinctions between moral education through labor and related areas are made to better clarify the essence of moral education through labor.Moral education through labor refers to the process where the educators engage individuals in labor in a purposefully,planned and organized manner based on the ideological values and moral norms of the ruling class.During this process,systematic ideological and political education is offered and individuals will develop the moralities that meet the needs of the ruling class.Moral education through labor demonstrates distinctive features of practical creativity,free consciousness,comprehensive integrity and continuous development.It is of great significance to the free,comprehensive and harmonious development of individuals and society.Carding the ideological basis and theoretical resources of moral education through labor is the basic basis of this research.In the long history of labor practices,extensive theories related to the values of labor in moral education have been developed.This research takes Marxist arguments on moral education through labor as the basis.Guided by historical materialism,Marx and Engels discussed the origin of morality by reviewing the development of productive forces,relations of production and division of labor.They put forward that labor education contributes to people’s all-round development.Honoring the fundamental arguments of Marxism,Lenin,Stalin and the leaders of the Communist Party of China have come up with rich ideas on moral education through labor based on national conditions,which provide the essential guidance for this research.The Chinese nation boasts a long tradition of labor worship.There are numerous sharp insights on moral education through labor statements in the outstanding traditional Chinese culture represented by Confucianism,Mohism and Taoism.These statements are local resources unique to this research.At the same time,western theories value the wisdom,virtue and reason of individuals in labor,which provide valuable perspectives for this research.Exploring the motivation,components and structures of moral education through labor is the key of this research.Firstly,moral education through labor doesn’t become a reality naturally.It requires internal motivations(individual needs,and interest in and curiosity about labor)and external guidance(pursuit for national rejuvenation and requirements on laborers in the intelligent age).Secondly,the primary element of moral education through labor is labor.Not all labor contributes to moral education.Labor that contributes to moral education features free consciousness,altruism,proper appropriateness,collective legitimacy and sustainability.The secondary elements of moral education through labor include labor knowledge and skills,labor consciousness and willingness,and ideological and moral foundations of subjects.Also,The labor process must be dominated by moral education,highlighting the role of systematic and scientific ideological and political education.Moreover,moral education through labor requires a sound labor security system,harmonious labor relationships,and a proper labor environment.Thirdly,the structure of moral education through labor is illustrated by explaining the social morals,professional ethics,family virtues and personal integrity developed during the labor process.The ecological virtues,social virtues and physical-psychological virtues are discussed based on the relationship between man and nature,man and society,and man and self-involved in labor.Analyzing the process and law of moral education through labor is the focus of this research.Generally speaking,the process can be divided into three stages,namely,the moral demands of the division of labor and the development of moral norms,the promotion of ideological and moral norms among laborers,and the acquisition of moralities by subjects in labor.For individuals,the process of moral education through labor takes place in several steps,namely the development of moral consciousness,the acquisition of ideological and moral emotions,the consolidation of ideological and moral will,the gaining of ideological and moral beliefs,and the application of ideological and moral beliefs in daily life.The ideological and moral consciousness is the foundation,the emotions the catalyst,the will the support,the beliefs the core,and the application the outcome.As essential components in the ideological and moral structure of individuals,these elements interact with each other.These processes and links highlight the basic patterns of moral education through labor,i.e.interactions between groups and individuals,the combination of education and labor,employment of body and brain,and unity of knowledge and action.Full understanding of the process,links and internal patterns of moral education through labor is the basis to ensure the productive implementation of moral education through labor.Exploring the effective realization of moral education through labor is the ultimate goal of this research.After discussing the motivation,elements,structures and inherent mechanism of moral education through labor,this research attempts to figure out how to ensure the productive implementation of moral education through labor.This part probe into the productive implementation of moral education through labor,discusses the principles that may be applicable.The author holds that the principles adopted need to be scientific with class nature,instrumental and valuable,normative and creative,and integral and targeted;the paths taken need to enhance the comprehensive capability of the educators,facilitate the coordination of all parties,optimize the internal and external environment,and enhance institutional arrangements;and the methods adopted need to increase the appeal of moral education through labor,which could the teaching-by-example method,the will training method,the situational education method and the appreciation education method. |
