The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that we should promote cultural confidence and self-improvement to create new glory in socialist culture.With the "disappearance of regions" under the global interconnection,the world is gradually connected into a "global village".As a kind of communication medium,media links the communication between people,promotes the cultural exchange,and promotes the mix of globalization and localization.With the rapid development of media,audiences "watch" the geographical space through different media,and constantly deconstruct and reconstruct the place.Place is not a physical concept,but an identity,a structural location.As a perceived value center,place also acts as the carrier of social and cultural significance,carrying the value function of stimulating the vitality of local culture.Human beings no longer regard place as a simple material space for labor and production,but as the material basis and perceptual object of human existence just like space,and regard it as a productive cultural space with various meanings and contents that can be transmitted.Since the 21st century,Chinese documentary has entered a stage of rapid development.The country tries to tell Chinese stories and spread Chinese culture by documentary,among which food documentary has become the carrier of Chinese culture.This paper selects Chinese food documentaries(2012-2022)as the object for text analysis,adopts literature research method,case analysis method,comparative research method,and relies on the theoretical research results of media geography and cultural communication.This paper demonstrates the necessity of Chinese food documentary as a carrier of cultural communication from both theoretical and practical aspects.Revealing Chinese food documentary is not only a social practice,but also a cultural practice,and a cultural phenomenon beyond the artistic phenomenon.The first chapter gives a specific and objective description of the creation and evolution of Chinese food documentaries from 1979 to 2022.The analysis shows that the development course of Chinese food documentary is closely connected with the development course of media,and the broadcasting platform has gradually turned from traditional media to modern media.It is pointed out that Chinese food documentary is being deeply mediatized by all media platforms.The extension of media expands the living space and development space of Chinese food documentary.The second chapter discusses the construction of local image of Chinese food documentary,and its text content is rich in local tendency and local connotation.It holds that diet,as a substantial object of experience,carries a specific social symbolic meaning.The interactive chain of social life is formed with food as the center,and local society is presented with food to realize the production of local landscape.Chapter three analyzes the local presentation of Chinese food documentary.Through the shape and structure of the video content,Chinese food documentary presents the cognitive performance of the subject to the place,implies the emotional memory and cultural perception of the place,and writes the image of the place with human cultural significance,realizing the "representation of the place".The fourth chapter points out that the reality view of Chinese food documentary is the foundation of its cultural subjectivity.In the construction of local culture,it is necessary not only to express the cultural subject truly,but also to promote the cultural subject to have strong cultural consciousness,which is the primary condition to embody "cultural subjectivity".The cultural subjectivity expression of Chinese food documentary analyzes its internal cultural logic,cultural choice and cultural value,and on this basis seeks identity through the process of self-recognition,self-reflection and community search.The local culture and food culture presented by Chinese food documentary build the foundation of Chinese food culture identity.The more accurate and clear the local identity is,the more profound the consensus on local identity and cultural identity is,and the more cohesive it is.It also points out that food culture is the core component of community cultural identity,and individuals in different places can achieve common and shared culture through food.At the same time,as a symbol of community identity,it actually produces the effectiveness of community cohesion,strengthens cultural confidence,forms an imaginary community,and completes the reshaping of experience community.The fifth chapter mainly discusses the construction path of local discourse of Chinese food documentaries,through deep communication from local perspectives,serving local audiences and strengthening local styles and characteristics,so as to achieve "glocalization" and "local globalization" of collaborative communication among media.While respecting and absorbing the global media,we should stick to the advantages of locality and seek the convergence of other cultures and local cultural concepts.It is pointed out that in the local production and communication,documentary communication cannot become a kind of travel beyond local culture,it must be rooted in the local,in order to position in the global context of documentary communication,thus becoming a "local" discourse.This paper deeply analyzes how Chinese food documentaries "tell Chinese stories well",and believes that under the background of globalization,they should strengthen the internal inheritance and development of Chinese food culture,accumulate brand effect and go local and trans-regional,adhere to the local reconstruction of "Chinese characteristics" and firmly maintain the local,subjective and epochal characteristics of Chinese food documentaries,so as to write a sense of place in China under the background of globalization.This will help Chinese food documentaries embark on the road of healthy development with video communication as the means and cultural communication as the internal responsibility,so as to tell Chinese stories and spread Chinese culture well to the world,and show the real,three-dimensional and comprehensive China.The conclusion explains that Chinese food documentary,as a documentary subject with prominent characteristics,inherits,promotes,shapes and updates Chinese food culture.By exerting its "cultural adhesive" effect,the people can consciously generate a sense of "unity of the whole people" in the process of continuous integration,thus reflecting the communication concept of "harmony without diversity and diversified development" of Chinese culture.Chinese food documentaries spread humanistic ideas and construct Chinese discourse,trying to make the humanistic ideas originally belonging to the individual level rise to the national identity at the global level,and build a more humanistic national image.It reveals that food documentary plays an important role in shaping national image,enhancing national cohesion and enhancing cultural confidence.Chinese food documentary should carry the mission and truly realize the world expression of Chinese themes.It also points out that it is of great significance to strengthen the research on cultural communication of Chinese food documentary,and the analysis and discussion of relevant issues need to be expanded and deepened.
