A Research On Community Renewal Design Strategies To Promote Effective Empowerment

Community renewal design is an important part of community governance,and public participation as the foundation of community governance,has become an important research direction for community renewal design on how to conduct effective public participation.In the dual context of spatial stock development and community autonomy,empowerment becomes the core issue of community renewal design,and effective empowerment is the key to effective public participation.Community renewal design is a process of empowering the public through public participation,and the realization of effective empowerment depends on the collaboration of multiple participants.Therefore,the challenges of community renewal design require the support of theoretical tools and practical techniques.This thesis reveals the characteristics and relationship between collaboration and empowerment in community renewal design,and proposes community renewal design strategies to promote effective empowerment based on the principles of sustainable collaborative system organization theory and effective empowerment theory,in response to the practical dilemmas of collaboration and empowerment in community renewal design practices.The research line from theoretical understanding to practical strategies is formed by "proposing research questions-grasping the characteristics of practice-applying theoretical tools-analyzing practical dilemmas-structuring methodological logic-proposing design strategies",etc.The following aspects are studied.(1)Through examining the historical evolution of community renewal at home and abroad,the thesis reveals the characteristics of collaboration and empowerment in community renewal,and the dual concerns of collaboration and empowerment in community renewal design;through sorting out and analyzing the research progress of community renewal design at home and abroad,the thesis discovers "the realization of effective empowerment in collaboration" as the breakthrough of the research problem.(2)Through the analysis of sustainable collaborative system organization theory and effective empowerment theory,the objective existence of collaborative community renewal system is explained,and the interrelationship between effective community renewal results,sustainable community renewal collaborative system organization and effective empowerment is analyzed,and the dual basic principles of community renewal design contributing to sustainable community renewal collaborative system organization and effective empowerment are proposed.(3)By examining the current situation of community renewal design practices in China,the practical dilemmas of collaboration and empowerment in community renewal design are revealed;in response to the dilemmas,combining the principles of sustainable collaborative system organization theory and effective empowerment theory,the thesis structures the methodological logic of community renewal design that promotes effective empowerment from a set of relational basis,four kinds of core power and three collaborative paths.(4)Based on the three collaborative paths of "authoritative communication,adaptive decision making,and continuous motivation",the thesis proposes community renewal design strategies to promote effective empowerment: a strategy to realize authoritative communication,including constructing a shared information exchange system,guaranteeing the professionalism of community designers,and guiding adequate public expression of community needs;a strategy to realize adaptive decision making,including creating a common decision-making basis,promoting rational decision-making process,and gathering public consensus on decision-making;a strategy for continuous motivation,including promoting the participation and motivation of the community public,activating the spatial efficiency of community public assets,and stimulating the social ties of the community public.This research highlights the practical significance of community renewal design in promoting effective empowerment from a multidisciplinary perspective.By constructing a trinity of design strategies,the thesis aims to promote the effectiveness of public participation in community renewal design by coordinating the collaborative relationships among participants,and reveals the role of community renewal design in promoting effective empowerment.
