Study On The Integration Of Tujia Archives In Wuling Mountain Area

Tujia people mainly distributed in the border of four provinces and cities: Hunan,Hubei,Chongqing and Guizhou,which are called Wuling mountain area.It has a large number of Tujia archives with various types and great value.In this paper,we choose Wuling mountain area as our resources of Tujia archives integration,in order to promote the optimal allocation and effective utilization of archives resources.It is the first empirical research in academia treating Wuling mountain area as whole to integrate Tujia archives resources.The study aims to serve the regional development strategies of ethnic communities,economic cooperation areas,cultural and ecological protection experimental areas,which benefits both academic and practical significantly.In this paper,based on the theory of ethnic archives,archival dualistic value,archival pluralism,fonds theory,resource integration theory and so on,the concept of Tujia archives resources is determined.Upon it,we introduce the core concept of the region as well,and the regional research idea of “region-history-culture-ecology-archives”is determined in combination with the national overall planning for the development of Wuling mountain area,and the “Tujia mode” of the integration of Tujia archives resources in Wuling mountain area is put forward too.Through the literature research method,this paper summarizes and analyzes the archives resources formed in Tujia history.By means of field survey,questionnaire,interview,network and others,this paper investigates the management and integration of Tujia archive resources by representative archives,museums,cultural centers and other institutions in Wuling mountain area,as well as the public's cognition of Tujia archive resources.Through case study,the existing problems in the integration of Tujia archives are discussed.Supporting by a variety of academic theory and research method,this article summarizes that the Tujia archives resources has the following attributes: space regional focus,many saving institutes,scattered management,huge folk savings.We also done the literature review,institutional cooperation basis,combined with good policy environment,to provide a convenient way for Tujia archives resources integration.Through investigation,we found that there are many problems in the status quo of Tujia archive resources in Wuling mountain area.Firstly,the public has a distinct traditional concept of emphasizing possession over use of archive resources,a deviation in the understanding of archive value,little understanding of archive laws and regulations,and a relatively obvious ethnic cultural identity.Second,the case of Xiangxi Tujia autonomous prefecture was investigated in three stages,with problems such as backward infrastructure construction,scattered organizational forces,single source of archives,lack of archives management personnel,serious shortage of funds,and limitations of the management system.Third,only a few counties and cities have portal websites,and only a few relevant departments use professional archives information management system.The popularization and application of information technology lag obviously.In view of the problems found in the investigation and research,this paper puts forward the way of integration of Tujia archives resources.The folk archives with Tujia ethnic characteristics and the archives resources with local characteristics in Wuling mountains should be increased to promote the public service of archives in Wuling mountains to be “public”.On the other hand,explore the cross-border cooperation between archives and other cultural resource collection and management institutions,as well as with other social forces,and gradually promote the integration process of archives resources through top-level design such as joint meetings and compilation integration.Based on the construction of regional linkage mechanism,the application mechanism of multiple participants and multi-dimensional integration mode is used to achieve it,and the protection mechanism of laws and regulations is used to coordinate.To realize the integration of Tujia archives in Wuling mountain area,it is necessary to form an integration mechanism from the aspects of physical resources,information resources,websites,professional personnel resources and other content elements of Tujia archives,and conduct specific integration from the aspects of collection,arrangement,storage and utilization of business processes.In the process of integration,it is necessary to make use of the opportunity of archives reform to exert the power of talents,ensure the smooth progress of integration and the professional results of integration.Generally speaking,this research enriches the connotation of ethnic archives resources in theory and method,enriches the deficiency of relevant researches on Tujia archives resources in research object and content.The realization of the integration of Tujia archives can provide abundant data and materials for the economic and cultural development of Wuling mountain area,and generate impetus for the development and promotion of Tujia folk culture,and provide ethnic cohesion for the construction of Tujia social memory.In the end,the national unity is maintained and consolidated while the prosperity and development of ethnic culture is realized.
