Research On The Influencing Factors Of Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration Behavior

At present,the trend of scientific research breaking through the limitation of single disciplinary to interdisciplinary research mode is more and more obvious,and the transform of research environment also promotes the development of research collaboration.In this context,interdisciplinary research collaboration has become an important form and trend of academic research in the era of big science,which will have a profound impact on future scientific development and have an important role in promoting knowledge innovation and social progress.In recent years,academic communities in countries such as the United Kingdom and the United States have gradually promoted interdisciplinary research collaboration through policies and strategies,research funding,and academic conferences.However,interdisciplinary research collaboration is influenced by many internal and external factors in the process of formation,promotion and development.There are both driving factors and obstacles.It is necessary to clarify key factors and interaction mechanisms,and propose targeted promotion strategies to form a scientific,efficient and sustainable interdisciplinary research collaboration paradigm.Based on this,this research focuses on interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.Through the scientific,systematic and in-depth research on the identification of influencing factors,the construction of theoretical models and the application of theoretical models towards interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior,the study puts forward the strategies,aiming to promoting the interdisciplinary research collaboration practice of researchers and achieves good results,and ultimately improves academic innovation efficiency and scientific development,so as to solve all kinds of major and complex problems facing social development.This study consists of four parts.Among them,the first part includes chapters 1,2 and 3,aiming at "finding problems";the second part is "analyzing problems",including chapters 4,5 and 6;the third part is "solving problems",including chapter 7;and the fourth part is the conclusion and prospect of the study,including chapter 8.Chapter One is the introduction.This paper expounds the research background,research significance,research progress at home and abroad,research objectives,contents,methods,research difficulties and innovations of interdisciplinary research collaboration.Chapter Two is related concepts and theoretical analysis.Related concepts include: discipline,interdisciplinary,interdisciplinary research,research cooperation,interdisciplinary research collaboration.The types of interdisciplinary research collaboration include individual spontaneous collaboration,team collaboration of research projects,and collaboration of interdisciplinary research entities.The important theories supporting this research include the Theory of Planned Behavior,the Social Capital Theory and the New Institutional Theory.Chapter Three is analysis of the status quo of interdisciplinary research collaboration based on bibliometrics.Based on the indexed documents of SCI,SSCI and A&HCI in Web of Science database,the research papers in the field of "Information Science and Library Science" from 2017 to2018 were selected as samples.On the basis of data filtering and manual labeling,this paper makes a quantitative analysis of the number of articles,published journals,scope of collaboration,disciplines network and collaboration topics.The research shows that the quality of interdisciplinary research collaboration is generally high,the collaboration scope is large,and the research theme highlights the frontier and innovation.However,the current interdisciplinary research collaboration has fewer achievements,and the collaboration span is not large,indicating the necessity of research on the influencing factors of interdisciplinary research collaboration.Chapter Four is the identification of influencing factors of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.Semi-structured in-depth interviews and first-hand information were conducted for researchers with interdisciplinary research collaboration experience.The interviews were analyzed with reference to the three-level coding process(open coding,axial coding and selective coding)of grounded theory.The main influencing factors of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior were extracted from the bottom to the top,and the typical cases among the main categories were alsopresented.The relationship is sorted out to form a theoretical framework of influencing factors of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.The framework consists of 6 main categories and 13 sub-categories: collaboration attitude: perceived usefulness and perceived risk;perceived control:collaboration convenience and self-efficacy;social interaction: knowledge exchange and resource sharing;relationship quality: trust and reciprocity norm;common cognition: common goal and common language;external environment:policy support,funding agency support and discipline system support.Chapter Five is the construction and validation of the influencing factors model of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.On the basis of the theoretical framework formed by the previous study,combined with the relevant research of the Planned Behavior Theory,Social Capital Theory and the New Institutional Theory,the research hypothesis is made from three dimensions of "individual willingness to collaborate","cooperative network" and "external environment".Questionnaires are conducted to collect data for researchers with interdisciplinary research collaboration experience.The reliability and validity of the scales are tested by PLS-SEM in turn,and the relationship between potential variables in the structural model is verified,thus forming the influencing factors model of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.The research shows that perceived usefulness and subjective norms significantly affect the willingness of scientific researchers to collaborate in interdisciplinary research;individual willingness to collaborate,social connection,trust,reciprocal norms,common vision,policy support,funding agency support,and discipline system support significantly affect the behavior of interdisciplinary research collaboration;and the behavior of interdisciplinary research collaboration has a positive impact on innovation performance.Chapter Six is the application of the influencing factors model of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.The influencing factors model of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior constructed by previous research is applied to practical cases.Taking Stanford University's independent interdisciplinary research institute system as an example,this paper examines the value perception and collaboration climate(corresponding to perceived usefulness and subjective norms),scholarly communication mode andresearch infrastructure(corresponding to social interaction),team cohesion(corresponding to trust),benefit guarantee mechanism(corresponding to reciprocal norms),purpose and goal(corresponding to common vision),policy and strategy(corresponding to policy support),research funding situation(corresponding to funding agency support),management mode(corresponding to discipline system support),and demonstrates the best practice of applying the model of influencing factors of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior.Chapter Seven is the promotion strategies of interdisciplinary research collaboration based on the discovery of influencing factors.The strategies to promote interdisciplinary research collaboration are put forward from the perspectives of individual willingness to collaborate,cooperative network and external environment,so as to promote the scientific and efficient operation of interdisciplinary research collaboration.Chapter Eight is the summary and prospect of the study.The study identified the key influencing factors of interdisciplinary research collaboration behavior,constructed the theoretical model of influencing factors,analyzed the practices of the influencing factors model,and proposed promotion strategies for interdisciplinary research collaboration.Future research needs to pay attention to the measurement methods,the differences,trust and interest games,and collaboration effectiveness of interdisciplinary research collaboration.
