Study On The Journal Identification Methods In Interdisciplinary Fields

Interdisciplinary journals are an important part of interdisciplinary research.Interdisciplinary journals are different from general journals,and have the characteristics of disciplinary diversity,subject aggregation,and discipline balance.The identification of interdisciplinary journals is conducive to the use of journals.For interdisciplinary journals,it can also be found and cited by researchers.It provides theoretical support for the identification and evaluation of interdisciplinary journals in the literature database.Since the identification method of interdisciplinary journals is the identification tool of interdisciplinary journals,this study aims to select the identification indicators with better recognition effects for the identification of interdisciplinary journals.In view of the current unclear concept of interdisciplinary journals and the lack of system identification methods,this study systematically sorts out the interdisciplinary identification methods at home and abroad.The advantages and disadvantages of each method are summarized and the concept of interdisciplinary journals is clarified.The interdisciplinary identification method is applied to the journal field and redefining.In view of the influence of GC indicators on the weight,the GI index of interdisciplinary journal identification index is proposed.According to the interdisciplinary journal identification indicators,try to construct a interdisciplinary journal identification model.According to the identification model,the correlation analysis between the method of interdisciplinary method identification and recognition is carried out for the journals of “multidisciplinary sciences”,“chemistry physical”,“biology” and “information science & library science”.Among them,the concepts of social network analysis,bibliometrics,and information entropy are used to calculate from the interdisciplinary identification of subject areas and the interdisciplinary recognition of field journals.Correlation analysis was carried out on the identification indicators by principal component analysis,and the indicators with high correlation were replaced according to the analysis results,and the indicators with low correlation were combined.In order to further reflect the distinguishing effect of the interdisciplinary journal identification indicators,the standard deviation calculation is performed on the results of the identification indicators,so that the interdisciplinaryjournal identification indicators with better effects are obtained.The following conclusions were obtained:(1)From the perspective of interdisciplinary journals,the interdisciplinary trend of“multidisciplinary sciences” journals is more significant than the other three disciplines.The “chemistry physical” journal has the weakest interdiscipline.(2)From the perspective of nine kinds of measurement indicators,the S index used to identify the diversity of journals and the GI index used to identify the balance of journals have better discrimination and higher validity,and can be combined with other indicators with lower correlation.(3)From the perspective of the applicability of identification indicators,the applicability of journal indicators in different subject areas is different.The GI and S index journals have the best applicability and are not affected by the differences in the field of journals.(4)From the perspective of the Interdisciplinary journal identification method,the formula for interdisciplinary identification method is poorly applicable to the characteristics of journals.And the formula only considers a single factor,and it is somewhat lopsided for the trend measurement of complex journals.
