Study On The Decline Of Metropolis Newspaper And The Anomie Of Organization Based On A Field Research Of Xinjiang Metropolis Daily

Nowadays,the Chinese Metropolis Newspaper group is in the process of the great decline.During the last 20 years,the development of the Chinese metropolis newspapers could be described as a rapid rise but anaccelerated collapse.How did it decline rapidly?How did the reporters sevive in the condition of media transforming?How did they interact between the media organizations and the individual?What is the sourse of declining?Therefore,this essay focus on the metropolis newspapers'declining situation and its anomie phenomenon.This dissertation uses Xinjiang Metropolis Daily as main study case,furtherly extends to the mainland metropolis media and reporters,with a review of its development especially the process of decline acceleratedly in recent years.From the perspective of "below to up",it explores the phenomenon of the anomie of individuals and organizations in the period of decline,and the interaction between them.From the perspective of "internal to external",it discusses the relationship between the anomie of Chinese metropolis newspapers and the marginalization of the group.Through this study,the author attempts to reveal the deep-seated reasons of the decline facts and the complex relationship among various variables.So that we could provide a meaningful way to furtherly explain the decline of Chinese metropolis newspapers,understand the organizations and reporters struggling and efforts for it better,and find the way to improve the development of Chinese metropolis newspapers.Applying the research approach of anomie theory and implementing anthropologic methodologies such as field study and in-depth interview,the dissertation discusses the anomie phenomenon and the marginalization of the organizations and employers who worked in.Logically,it includes two parts:thick description and theoretic interpretation,therefore,on the basis of detailed description of complicated decline facts and practice of Xinjiang Metropolis Daily,abstract yet appropriate theoretic interpretation is provided.It concludes that,Firstly,facing the decline of metropolis newspapers,it could be devided into four types of the individual anomie behaviors:the numbness,the stealth,the rebellion and the retreatism.Hesitation and anxiety are the main performance of individual anomie syndrome,besides the absence of meaning and lack of identity are reasons of individual anomie.Secondly,with the continuous decline of metropolitan newspaper,their organizations go to anomie gradually,mainly represents in the original stable metropolitan frame being liquefacient,in addition strong power transform to weak power,the individual antagonization become serious,the belief system based on the institute is shaken,organizations will gradually disintegrated.Thirdly,from the individual and organizational matrix interaction model which constitutes of norm and anomie,the current urban newspaper has been in the fourth model,that is to say,the structure liquefaction,order fuzzy,unable to form the effective protection of the individual,in addition,the individual hesitation and anxiety diffuse everywhere which strikes the existing structure,the individual anomie and organization anomie impact each other aggravatly.Fourthly,metropolitan newspapers gradually slide to the fringe from the core area in its golden era,which is caused by interaction between social,economic and political factors.It finally represents the marginalization of social status,the marginalization of economic status and the marginalization of political status.Fifthly,after experiencing a series of social exclusion,in the ecosystem of media transform,current media's structure appears obvious stratification apparently,namely the core level media,the middle level media and the marginal media.The marginalized situation of the metropolitan newspapers is the root of the organization anomie and the individual anomie.Also the anomie phenomenon has a negative effect on its marginalization.The two-way intensification of individual anomie and organizational anomie continues to deepen the marginalization of metropolitan newspaper.Sixthly,in the theoretical framework of "core-edge",it maybe theoretically feasible that returning to the core from marginalization.From the perspective of practice,metropolitan newspapers failed to find the engine and power to back to the center in time.Under the interaction of social,economic and political factors,the metropolitan newspaper's efforts to return to core struggles and efforts were mostly unsuccessful.In a word,the decline of Chinese metropolitan newspapers cannot be simply explained by media technology theory.It is closely related to the anomie behavior and psychology that occur in the organizations and practitioners of metropolitan newspapers,and is also effected by the role of social,economic and political environment.In addition,anomie has positive significance to the construction of organizational change and social change,in terms of the organization,initial organizational change often derives from deviation and anomie,in terms of society,it is the anomie,which promotes the media metabolism.
