Information is very important for the development of market. As a financial centre, it is a place with high efficiency and concentration of market, in which the demand for information is high and essential. New York, London and Hong Kong, as international financial centres, have their own financial newspaper respectively, such as Wall Street Journal (WSJ) for New York, Financial Time (FT) for London and Hong Kong Economic Journal (HKEJ) for Hong Kong. HKEJ is the most important financial newspaper for Hong Kong market, but against the international level and market, the influence of HKEJ with less competitiveness is not as good as WSJ and FT. Comparing WSJ and FT, the international media has less quote and concern HKEJ as a important and main source for their coverage. The purpose of this study was to explore what essential factors HKEJ lack and being short of that it make HKEJ as a minor one. The US Subprime Crisis will be a case for study and compare and analyze the coverage and comment of these three newspaper on this issue. It is recommended that it could be helpful for the financial journalism of China and Hong Kong.
