Zhima is usually used in folk ritual,it is printed by engraving.Folk belief of Zhima is derived from the idea of “everything has spirit” in ancient times.Up to now,the process of using Zhima by the general public is an expression of ideal life and a self-comfort of the soul.This thesis chooses the folk Zhima of the three representative regions in the Jiangnan Wuyu area of China as the research object,which is still an important form of belief practice.That is still created,distributed and used.Through investigation and research,this paper place Zhima in its surviving environment,hope to study the use in villager's life.From the exploration of Zhima,the operation psychology and form of folk beliefs in Jiangnan area are extended,and the role of local sense construction in Jiangnan area is discussed.The Zhima production area in the Jiangnan area is distributed in the Taihu Lake basin under the Wu culture system,and is influenced by many factors such as local culture and aesthetic taste.The folk art of Zhima plays an important role in the important folk belief rituals in Jiangnan area.In Chinese folk culture,folk beliefs have always occupied an important position and profoundly affected the lives of the people.It is an important part of folklore research.In Chinese people's social life,religious factors are different from institutional religions.They are "diffuse".Folk beliefs do not have rituals,formal organizations,systematic teachings.The diffuse factor has contributed to its wide influence in Jiangnan area.Zhima relies on Taoist and Buddhism-based religious rituals in the folk beliefs of the Jiangnan region.It is closely related to the social life and interpersonal relationships of local people and has become an important cultural landscape in the Jiangnan region.Nowadays,the farming economy in which Zhima live in China has been disintegrated.Faced with the impact of the modern industrial economy,changes in the living environment and changes in people's minds,many forms of traditional folk art and folk rituals have shrunk,and customary practices have also occurred.In the investigation,the author found that in the Jiangnan area of China,Zhima which is formed under the farming civilization is still in active use.This thesis tries to use the distribution and production of Zhima in Jiangnan area and its application in folk activities as an entry point,study the relationship between folk beliefs and local social order,and explore the process of its evolution.Zhima can represent the regional folk culture and folklore matters.This thesis focus on Zhima to find the local traditional folk rituals and the cultural ecology of the survival of folk art,and trace the process of the local construction of the people in the south of the Yangtze River.This is not only important for exploring the basic ways of thinking and behavior of the local people,but also the relationship between regional culture and geographical environment and folk art.Chinese folk belief is realism and utilitarianism.The special history,social organization and folk beliefs in the Jiangnan Wuyu area constitute a unique cultural life of the people and constitute a sense of attachment of the people to this area.Under the new historical conditions,people's thoughts have changed,and a large number of folk arts,drama,and music are vanishing.Zhima has a part of tenacious existence.This paper hopes to explore the background of the local Zhima survival,and analyze the influence of Zhima on the life of the people in the south of the Yangtze River in the process of inheritance,and restore the "sense of place" construction process of Jiangnan region.The first,second and third chapters of the first half of this thesis mainly describe the concept of the Zhima in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River,the environment,production methods,themes,images,aesthetic features,image changes,clear the history of the Zhima.Folk culture,especially folk beliefs,is mainly passed on by memory.The intrusion of Western thoughts has changed the cultural thinking habits of the Chinese people.Although the people's lifestyle has changed,the psychology of the Jiangnan people's pursuit of spiritual comfort has not disappeared.In this case belief foundation of the paper horse still exists.In the fourth chapter,through the discussion of the belief system,the custom and the user's memory of Zhima,we find the variation of the production and use of paper horses,analyze the psychological differences between the traditional and modern people,explore the occurrence of Zhima variation,study the phenomenon and the internal factors that Zhima can survive.As a carrier of faith,the folk traditional Zhima belongs to a unique art form in printmaking.It has unique aesthetic value and unique historical and cultural value.Therefore,in the last chapter of this thesis,it is planned to draw conclusions on the above-mentioned issues.
