| Zhima is the paper printed with the image of the gods used for sacrificial purposes.After the ceremony,it is burned immediately,since it serves the function of communicating with the gods and linking heaven and earth.It is also an important medium in folk sacrifice activities in China.According to research,Zhima originated as early as the Song Dynasty,and there were relevant literature records and unearthed relics at that time.With the rapid urbanization process today,Zhima is rarely seen in most urban areas.However,they are still shining in some regions.Zhima has also received significant attention in academic research since the 1980 s,but due to the vast territory of China,some regions such as Wenzhou have been neglected.Based on this,this article investigates the Zhimas in some areas of Wenzhou.Through field surveys and interviews,the research records are sorted out and summarized to intuitively demonstrate the general artistic expression of Wenzhou’s Zhima.Using case studies from on-site inspections,the basic functions and uses of Zhima are introduced and analyzed.A collection of some unique Zhima is also briefly described.Like Zhima in other regions,Wenzhou’s Zhima also have their own characteristics,showcasing the practical and realistic national traits of the Wenzhou people.Similarly,the Wenzhou residents also express their hope for a better life through Zhima.The spiritual and cultural power embodied in folk objects like this has brought endless inspiration to the author’s creative work.To excavate and sort out the rarely documented folk Zhima in Wenzhou is undoubtedly not only a supplement to the existing research on Zhima,but also an expansion of the local folk culture in Wenzhou,systematically organize and record Wenzhou’s Zhima. |
