Abstract/Summary:
Genghis khan is a famous politician,strategist in our history,and one of the great conquerors in the world.For thousands of years,people have been telling the story of Genghis khan.The real Genghis khan has been integrated with the image of Genghis khan in history,literature,art and other fields,and has become a cultural symbol.Analyzing the performance of the image building of Genghis khan in different fields can help us make better use of the resources of Genghis khan,create better works,enrich the socialist cultural undertakings,and then enhance our cultural soft power,promote national unity,enhance national cohesion and expand international influence.Firstly,the historical and theoretical tracing of Genghis Khan’s cultural image-shaping is carried out.Genghis khan’s spirit of unremitting self-improvement and arduous struggle in the desperate situation is the most precious spiritual wealth of the Chinese nation,and it is also an important reason why the Chinese culture has gone through all kinds of hardships but still lives on in this land.During the process of creation and dissemination of Genghis khan’s image,the positive factors are fully performed,but the controversy part is a dilemma to the creator.How to fully show the image of Genghis khan provided creators with both challenges and opportunities at the same time,the place of these disputes is often created to a new perspective,new ideas.As people become more objective about Genghis khan,we will inject new vitality to Genghis khan’s image shaping if can reasonably use of these disputes.Under the new historicism theory,there is no strict boundary between historical texts and literary and cultural texts,they are all discursive practices and products of a particular socio-cultural context.From the perspective of cultural semiotics,the texts of Genghis Khan created by different countries and ethnic groups are in different semiosphere,and the interaction,exchange and "translation" between these semiosphere give new meaning to the image of Genghis Khan.This is the essence of cultural exchange,and the exchange between different semiosphere that break the border can promote cultural innovation.The image of Genghis Khan has been attracting much attention in the West,and the analysis of the image of Genghis Khan in foreign works can help us to better understand the differences between Chinese and foreign cultures,as well as to better understand Genghis Khan and Chinese culture.Secondly,this dissertation analyzes Genghis khan’s image in literary works from the Angle of close reading.In Mongolian narration,the image of Genghis khan changes with the change of history.He is a hero under the protection of Tengri in The Secret History of the Mongols.In the historical literature of the 17 th and 18 th centuries,his image has the reflection of Buddhism culture and Chinese culture,and also showed more human color with the addition of some Mongolian folk tales.The author of Qing Shi Yan Yi made Genghis khan a benevolent and holy Lord in Confucian culture and strengthened his image as a Mongolian ethnic hero.In foreign works,the images of Genghis khan are both positive and negative,but their works showed some misleading of the east.With the efforts of scholars,this phenomenon is changing.Foreign scholars have created the image of Genghis khan in a more diverse perspective and richer content,which is worth learning.Among the contemporary works in China,the works in the80 s and 90 s still have the color of historical novels,while the works since the 90 s begin to explore the profound connotation of Genghis khan’s image from more angles.New historicism regards literature and cultural text as an important part of the cultural symbol system.Literary creation itself,like historical writing,is also a shaping of social culture.Thirdly,we analyzed the image of Genghis khan in film and television works.In recent years,foreign film and television works including documentaries and films have been more objective in their evaluation of Genghis khan.Although there are still some misreading of Genghis khan and the Chinese culture,but people are trying to create a suitable culture system and value system requirements of Genghis khan’s image.In China,the number of Genghis khan movies and TV series is not much,but the quality is very high.Today,with the rapid development of the Chinese film market,the public’s demand for excellent films and TV series continues unabated,which is a good opportunity for us to create good works.Since the 21 st century,with the rapid development of the Internet,the forms and media for people to watch movies and TV series have also changed.How to make use of this opportunity,keep up with the pace of the times,increase the investment in movies and TV plays about Genghis khan,and dig the cultural resources of Genghis khan is our current important responsibility and mission.Finally,we discussed the sacrifice situation of Genghis khan’s mausoleum and the cultural image of Genghis khan.Because of the Mongolian concealment custom,people still don’t know where Genghis khan’s body is buried.According to legend,the soul of Genghis khan was left in Ejin Horo,and some of his relics were put here,where palace tents were set up for sacrifice.After several vicissitudes,today’s Genghis khan’s mausoleum was formed.In the sacrifice of Genghis khan’s mausoleum,Genghis khan is the center and cultural symbol.The sacrifice of Genghis khan’s mausoleum has its sacred and solemn characteristics,and gradually integrates Mongolian ethnic characteristics in the development process.In recent years,Tourism projects and commercial activities themed on the image of Genghis khan are developed,also has obtained certain achievements.But we should recognize the status quo,see the problems existing in the development,and actively look for solutions.Genghis khan’s image is our precious cultural resources,it should be protected and rationally used.The starting point and the foothold of academic research should be in the present,Genghis khan’s image our precious cultural resources,strengthen Genghis khan’s image shaping and spread the spirit of Genghis khan,transformed into cultural soft power,not only can enhance ethnic cohesion,improve ethnic innovation ability,but also can improve our international influence.Genghis khan is the hero of Mongolian,also the hero of the Chinese nation,his image is a distinct cultural symbol,is part of our national cultural community spirit and great thought.Studying and shaping his image can strengthen the national unity and stimulate people’s spirit of innovation,can help us to create excellent works of keep up with the pace of era.Genghis khan’s story is an important part of Chinese story,also is a part with international influence,Genghis khan’s heroic image is part of the great image of the Chinese nation,telling his story is a way that we fully show China to the world.We need to set up our own discourse system,introduce Chinese thoughts and proposition to the world.
