| This study examines the effects of automation on Richard Bland College Library. Three student surveys were administered in February 1993, January 1997 and January 1999 in order to examine student usage, perception and training as a result of the automation of RBC Library. The February 1933 survey was administered prior to automation. Automation was completed in April 1996. There are three overall hypotheses. Listed, they include; (1) Usage of both resources and services will increase or decrease due to automation, (2) Students' perception of the library will be positive or negative due to automation, and (3) Students' training needs will increase or decrease due to automation. ROMs, circulation, and periodical/journal usage. The study found that the use of the library did increase due to automation. Students' perception of the library varied. Students indicated that they did not need training in any area. |
