Lean manufacturing is the foundation of all advanced manufacturing method applications,and is the important step in intelligent manufacturing cannot be exceeded.The domestic manufacturing lean application and research still rest on the production management,lean design can receive more benefits in fact.Lean design is an effective way to significantly reduce costs,simplify management,improve quality and efficiency,particularly in the context of domestic manufacturing weak management foundation and cost advantage weakened.But no more attention and effective solution on lean design problem now.In this paper,the discrete manufacturing system spatial organization as the main object,systematic summarized the lean design theory framework and discussed in depth its methods.(1)Eliminating the waste as the starting point,the overall optimal for the purpose,the dynamic thinking of continuous improvement as a guide,the general wasteof discrete manufacturing system spatial organization design as the starting point,Spatial organization lean design(SOLD)theoretical points are systematically studied.Creatively puts forwards five functional characteristics of SOLD,"zero inventory,zero wait,zero search,short logistics and easy reconstruction".Based on that,SOLD theoretical framework is axiomatic modelied and summarized.(2)Proposed the basic elements of SOLD based on the theoretical framework,and integrated the basic elements analysis methods.The application of various analytical methods is illustrated by case study.Lay the foundation for the follow-up design work.(3)Aiming at the two typical layout form of discrete manufacturing system layout lean design,which is U-shaped layout and U-shaped cell layout,the key problems are summarized and sorted out.layout mathematical planning model and solving ideas is established for the key problems of lean design.The application example verifies the proposed model and the effectiveness of solving ideas.(4)The 5S design idea of the discrete manufacturing system work area is put forward in order to realize the functional requirements of "zero search",and the workplace identification,orientation identification,operational design and other ancillary design content and methods are included in SOLD content,which provide a reference for realizing effective guidance link in discrete manufacturing system.(5)The evaluation index system of SOLD scheme is constructed based on the five functional characteristics.The evaluation matrix was constructed by index scale of AHP method,objectively determined the evaluation index weight;put forwards Weighted regularized Mahalanobis Distances improved TOPSIS method to determine the sorts of MSLD solutions.This paper is a further advance of the application of lean thinking,which promotes the manufacturing enterprise to more systematically and scientifically apply the lean theory to the preliminary planning and design stage of the manufacturing system,eliminate the waste from the source,simplify the management and follow-up improvement process,improve lean level,reduce costs and enhance competitiveness.
