Research On The Industrial Clusters' Knowledge-sharing Based On Social Networks

The development of industrial clusters involves the knowledge concentration and evolvement.The upgrading of products,craftsmanship and marketing,as well as the promotion of the whole cluster's value chain and competitiveness,are all rooted from the share of knowledge in the cluster through interactions between each and every cluster entity on the basis of knowledge acquisition,processing and accumulation.There is a strong demand of high-tech enterprises on knowledge-sharing as they are enthusiastic in pursuing the integration of creative,cutting-edge and breakthrough technologies.Higher education institutes and R&D departments are introduced into cluster and well connected with members in the cluster.Knowledge-sharing platform is usually set up in clusters to provide knowledge communication,exchange,cooperation and accumulation.Knowledge-sharing is important to both the cluster and enterprises in the cluster.It is crucial for high-end industrial clusters of the international value chain to carry out innovation driven strategy.The competence of knowledge acquisition and independent creativity of enterprises could be advanced as the knowledge is spread and new know-how is created within the platform of knowledge-sharing in a cluster.The competitiveness of a cluster could be effectively promoted as knowledge-sharing enables the reduction of unnecessary investment repetition and cost of knowledge acquisition,as well as the enhancement of flexibility and creativity of the organization through group wisdom.Although the importance of knowledge-sharing is recognized by every cluster which is trying to build up sharing platform,the cluster knowledge-sharing system is not well functioning and lags far behind the goal of sharing.It is pointed out by many experts that knowledge-sharing will be affected by many causes,including the incomplete IPR protection mechanism,insufficient government support,lack of focus of the cluster itself and certain features of knowledge.Besides the causes illustrated by current researches,this thesis proves that cluster structure,knowledge-sharing intention and knowledge-sharing ability are all key factors affecting cluster knowledge sharing,and their influence is non-linear,but multi-dimensional.Industrial cluster is reogarded as a social network in this thesis,namely cluster network,and the differences of cluster structure are shown by varieties of its network.Network density,degree centrality and betweenness centrality are three aspects standing for cluster network structure.Cluster knowledge-sharing is composed of two dimensions,respectively intensive and extensive knowledge-sharing.The influence and adjustment of cluster knowledge-sharing by cluster network structure features is studied.The influence includes the following three aspects:1.the influence of cluster network density on intensive and extensive knowledge-sharing;2.the influence of cluster degree centrality on intensive and extensive knowledge-sharing;3.the influence of cluster betweenness centrality on intensive and extensive knowledge-sharing.The study of conditions of cluster network structure includes influence of adjustment of cluster knowledge-sharing intention and influence of adjustment of cluster knowledge-sharing ability adjustment.The discussion on the effect of cluster knowledge-sharing is focusing on intensive and extensive knowledge-sharing's influence on cluster's financial and innovative performanceOn the basis of the theoretical model,empirical methodology is adapted in this thesis,and the conclusion is reached through questionnaire,data collection,test of hypothesis and revision of theoretical model.Firstly,the construct relationship transforms into variable relationship by the alternation of construct operation to variate,and the theoretical model turns into a variable one.Secondly,the variable data is collected through interview and questionnaire towards more than 100 high-tech industrial clusters in Jiangsu.The data quality is analyzed one the basis of data collection.Firstly,the test against construct reliability and validity is conducted.It is found through SPSS 18.0 analysis that the reliability is better in terms of degree centrality,betweenness centrality,intensive and extensive knowledge-sharing,k:nowledge-sharing intention,knowledge-sharing ability,and cluster's financial and innovative performance.It is also found through analysis of model software Lisre 18.60 that construct features sound integrating and distinguishing validity.Secondly,common method variance is not detected by SPSS 18.0 analysis of exploratory factor against all construct indexes.Thirdly,no serious multicollinearity is detected through variance inflation factor analysis.Within the analysis of construct's reliability,validity and data collection,research hypothesis is tested by multiple hierarchy regression analysis and reaches the following conclusions.1.Cluster network structure features could influence cluster knowledge-sharing,but with a complicated process.Firstly,cluster network density and degree centrality could positi'vely promote intensive cluster knowledge,but limit the extensive knowledge-sharing.Secondly,cluster network betweenness centrality promotes extensive knowledge-sharing while limiting the intensive.2.Cluster knowledge-sharing intention could exert adjusting influence.Firstly,stronger intention creates higher influence of cluster network density on intensive knowledge-sharing,while there is no adjustment of extensive knowledge-sharing through cluster density.Secondly,knowledge-sharing intention exerts positive influence on cluster network degree centrality and intensive knowledge-sharing,while play a negative role in the adjustment between cluster network degree centrality and extensive knowledge-sharing.Thirdly,knowledge-sharing intention exerts negative influence on cluster network betweenness centrality and intensive knowledge-sharing,while play a positive role in the adjustment between betweenness centrality and extensive knowledge-sharing.3.Knowledge-sharing ability exerts adjusting effect to the adjustment between cluster network structure features,knowledge-sharing and knowledge-sharing intention.The interaction between cluster network structure,knowledge-sharing intention and ability is very important to cluster knowledge sharing.4.The influence of cluster knowledge-sharing on cluster performance is very complicated.Extensive knowledge positively advances cluster innovative performance but has no influence on the cluster financial performance.Cluster intensive knowledge exerts positive influence on both financial and innovative performance.
