From Isolation To Communication:A Narrative Study Of Taiwan Newspapers' Mainland News

This study puts the mainland news reports of Taiwan newspapers under the background of cross-strait exchanges,and finds that the changes of Taiwan newspapers ' mainland news can be divided into four stages:the first stage is the hostile isolation period(1949-1987)and the second stage is the thawing recovery period(1988-1992),The third stage is the ups and downs(1993-2005),and the fourth phase is the stable development period(2006-present).This research uses the quantitative analysis to outline the Taiwan newspaper mainland news report Vicissitude trend in the macroscopic,uses the narrative theory to reveal the mainland news report concrete presentation way through the textual analysis.From the narrative analysis,this research finds that the narrative frame is the hidden narrator's identity,which affects the concrete presentation of the four newspapers ' mainland news reports."Central Daily":The preservation of one China,the hostility towards the Communist Party is waning."China Times":the maintenance of one China,the mainland's economic and social development expectations."The United Daily":the maintenance of one China,against the Communist Party but not against the mainland economic and social development."Free Times":against cross-strait reunification,unfriendly to the mainland.Although Taiwan newspaper mainland news reports are affected by a variety of factors,different stages,different newspapers present characteristics vary,there are ups and downs,but with cross-strait exchanges between the rich and the level of communication,the common sense of the space between the two sides increased,Taiwan newspaper Mainland News has become an important news product in Taiwan's news market,regardless of the position and positioning of the newspaper,to meet the market demand must provide a test-proof products,that is,the facts themselves must be reported in the news.Therefore,the Taiwan newspapermainland News report is in favor of the positive interaction between cross-strait relations development direction.
