In China,children's book publishing,known as the "eternal sunrising industry”,has been a part with the strongest vitality and the greatest potential in publishing industry.In recent years,with the increasing attention of children's reading,children's reading needs continue to grow and children's book publishing ushers in a broader space for development and more intense competitive environment.In order to seize the market,repeated publication and fashion-publication can be found everywhere in children's book field.The healthy development of children's book publishing needs to be controlled from the source of publication,and needs to be based on the improvement of editorial competence.Children's book editor is the planner of children's book selection,the gatekeeper of the quality of children's books,the guider of children's books reading.It is a question worthy of consideration and research that how to develop their professional advantages to provide quality reading content and services for children,as well as how to form and enhance the editorial competence in children's book publishing activities.Under the background of both nationwide reading and building the power of news publication,based on the professional perspectives of editing,this paper makes the theoretical research and practical exploration of the editorial competence of Chinese children's books publishing combining with relevant theoretical knowledge of children's pedagogy,children's psychology and children's literature at home and abroad by focusing on the process and characteristics of children's book publishing.Firstly,the important concepts involved in this paper,such as children,children's books,editorial competence,are defined,which reveals the connotation,characteristics,composition and roles of editorial competence of children's book publishing and elaborates the necessity and importance of research on editorial competence of children's book publishing.Secondly,the author divides the factors of the editorial competence of children's book publishing into two parts,that is,the endogenous factors and the external driving factors.Among them,self-identity,knowledge structure,ideology and professional ethics of children's book editors belong to the former while the changes of cultural policy environment,international competitive environment,and digital new media environment as well as the objective of healthy development of children's books industry belong to the latter.Thirdly,on the basis of summarizing the constituent elements and influencing factors of editorial competence of children's book publishing,this paper abstracts out the basic train of thought to construct the model of editorial competence children's book publishing.And under the guidance of the principle of model construction,the paper,from the aspects of the micro-editorial competence,medium editorial competence and macro-editorial competence,determines its generation paths and analysis framework and then evaluates its application value.In the end,the paper puts forward the strategies and methods for children's book editors,children's book publishing houses and the government's management departments respectively to enhance the editorial competence so as to provide reference for the development of children's book publishing industry and the promotion of children's reading.From the perspective of theoretical research,on the basis of the general theory research of editorial competence and focusing on the specific object of children's books publishing,this paper systematically teases the connotation,characteristics,and composition of editorial competence of children's book publishing,which enriches the study of editing content,and to a certain extent,deepens the theoretical research of publishing science.From the aspect of practical value,the analysis of the forming factors and the promotion paths of editorial competence of China's children's book publishing not only helps to strengthen children's book editors' quality and improve their levels of editorial competence,but also helps children's book publishing enterprises make editorial competence their core competition.As a result,they can improve the overall editorial competence of enterprises from the management level and promote the healthy development of children's book publishing industry in China.
