To meet the fast development of information technology and customers' requirements instantly,the collaborative product development(CPD)has become the world wide trend in industry.This product development mode largely enhances the interaction of collaborative partners in global manufacturing and utilizes all kinds of resources efficiently by the collaborative work among different district,organization or department.Along with the development of internet and impacted by technologies of cloud computing and service oriented architecture(SOA),as the latest trend CPD application environment is service oriented and cloud based,the concept of cloud design and manufacturing(CBDM)is formed.The researches on collaborative design can be classified into two directions:the data centered heterogeneous product data exchange and the interaction centered collaborative synchronization.For the direction of data centered collaborative design,to realize the effective collaborative data sharing and interoperation,the feature based data exchange(FBDE)among heterogeneous CAD systems should be implied in CBDM environment.Meanwhile,in the process of FBDE,the sensitive information and intellectual property need to be well protected.On the other hand,for direction of the interaction centered collaborative system,the research target is providing a real time concurrent design platform for collaborative design so as to ensure a consistent design result by collaborative design operations from co-designers.Aiming at these factors,this paper focuses on the service oriented secure FBDE solutions and consistency maintenance in collaborative design.Several innovative contributions are made for collaborative design in issues of service oriented FBDE,deformation based CAD model information protection and integrated service for secure FBDE and collaborative synchronization.A service-oriented architecture for data exchange in CBDM is presented.Within this architecture,FBDE was registered as service and FBDE users in the CBDM environment can acquire a set of FBDE services to replace the traditional FBDE functionsamong heterogeneous CAD systems.In order to put the philosophy of FBDE-as-a-Service into practice for CBDM,this paper proposes a Peer to Peer(P2P)approach for service-oriented FBDE,whichrevolutionizesthe traditional centralized and neutral-file based approach.Technique issues of FBDE-as-a-Service in P2P architecture are discussed in details,including constituting of the P2P FBDE service,procedure of service-oriented P2P FBDE,pre-P2P FBDE service,topological entity matching between pre/post-P2P service andpost-P2P FBDE service.A case study of data exchange is tested to demonstrate the proposed idea of service-oriented FBDE for CBDM.To enhance the security of CAD model in collaborative design,the architectureof sensitive information protection is proposed based on partial deformation of CAD model.Sketch parameters are transformed to deform the shape of CAD model to hide original model information.Then,a matrix based deformation method is presented to transform the control points of sketch by using a matrix for deformation calculation.Further,in order to control the deformation tendency of the deformed model,a Free Form Deformation(FFD)based deformation method for sketch is introduced from geometry computation into feature based CAD systems.This method applies a deformation lattice to deform sketch.Finally,some case studies were made to demonstrate the method.A service-oriented secure FBDE architecture is presented.A secure FBDE method which consists of the model security method and the FBDE service is proposed.The secure FBDE is adopted as services for CBDM.Moreover,a set of privilege and access control mechanism is discussed for the cloud safety.In this way,feature-based CAD models could be exchanged among collaborative designers with the sensitive information protected in cloud based and service-oriented environment.A novel synchronization method based on consistent modeling procedure is proposed.The method is presented for replicated feature based collaborative CAD systems.The modeling feature is adopted as the operation granularity.The relations of operations can be determined by modeling state vectors.The operation order is determined based on the operation relation.During the ordering,the potential operation conflict is detected and the resolution strategy is given.Therefore,the consistent and valid modeling operation procedure is established in each site of the collaborative design environment.The modeling history of all sites keep consistent too,because of the modeling procedure consistency.Hence,the valid and consistent modeling result and history in all sites are achieved.In summary,this paper,aiming at the data-centered and interaction-centered collaborative design,researches on feature based data exchange,modeling security,service oriented architecture for collaborative design and collaborative consistency maintenance and implements the service oriented secure FBDE and the synchronization mechanism based on consistent modeling procedure in collaborative design.This work provides effective solutions for the safe data sharing and interoperation in CBDM.
