| Model worker is a lofty honorary title granted by the Party and the government to workers who have made outstanding achievements to socialist economic,political,cultural,social,ecological development and the Party capacity-building.The spirit of model workers is embodied by the behaviors of model workers and rewarded for their values,morality,spiritual appearance and code of conduct in social practice.As early as the 1930 s,the preliminary form of model worker recognition movement could be found in Ruijin of the Central Soviet Area.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,on the basis of summing up the historical experience of model worker recognition,our party has fixed model worker recognition as a system of mobilizing the masses,connecting with the masses and serving the masses.A history of model workers is a history of struggle,development and revitalization of the Chinese nation from standing up,becoming rich to growing strong.Generation of model workers have created extraordinary achievements through ordinary work,not only creating material wealth,but also creating spiritual wealth in reality,casting the great spirit of "loving duty,striving for first-class,working hard,being brave in innovation,indifferent to prestige and fortune,and willing to contribute".With the publicity and strong leadership of the Communist Party of China,after nearly 90 years of evolution,the spiritual connotation and functions of model workers have been continuously enriched and improved,and the leading role of demonstration has become increasingly prominent,which is an extremely valuable spiritual wealth.The Party and the country have always attached great importance to the inheritance and promotion of the spirit of mode workers,and always regarded it as a direction and spiritual motivation to influence and inspire hundreds of millions of working people to make unremitting efforts to promote economic and social development and progress;especially since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping had made important speeches and instructions on vigorously carrying forward the spirit of model workers,giving full play to the role of model workers on many occasions.He has put forward many new ideas,viewpoints,theories and requirements for further carrying forward the Spirit in the whole society,providing scientific,theoretical guidance and fundamental ideological compliance.The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China declared socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,depicted the grand blueprint of building a well-off society in an all-round way,winning the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics,and started a great journey of building the socialist modernization power.The new era is great.It calls for great spirit and promotes great cause.The spirit of model workers in the new era is undoubtedly the most inspiring,cohesive and influential spiritual element.Therefore,strengthening the research on the spirit of model workers,excavating and explaining the connotation,functions,values of the times,carrying forward the path of this "spiritually rich mine" can fully arouse the enthusiasm,creativity and infinite strength of hundreds of millions of workers and staff.In the great journey of realizing the two centenary goals and the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation for the Chinese nation,it is historically significant in terms of making contributions,showing style and recasting brilliance.These four questions are the main lines of analysis and research:“When did the spirit of model workers originate in the new era?” “What is the connotation of the spirit of model workers in the new era?”“What are the difficulties in carrying forward the spirit of model workers in the new era?”“How to carry forward the spirit of model workers in the new era?” First of all,this paper traces the historical origin of the model worker recognition movement,the great spiritual leading role played by the model worker spirit in each historical period of China’s revolution,construction and reform,and creatively divides the evolution process of the model worker spirit connotation into different periods,including: germination period(before the founding of New China),embryonic period(at the beginning of the founding of New China),development period(socialist construction period),growth period(new period of reform and opening up)and improvement period(new era).At the same time,the characteristics of the model worker spirit in each historical period are studied.On this basis,this paper explains the profound meaning of the spirit of model workers in details,such as "loving their work and dedication,striving for first-class,working hard,being brave in innovation,indifferent to prestige and fortune,and willing to contribute",and its functions such as stimulation,education,demonstration and its cultural influence,then it concludes that the strong vitality,appeal and influence of the model worker spirit in China are due to the great importance that the Party and the state has attached to,the vigorous publicity of the mainstream media,the extensive influence among the people,the efforts made by trade unions and the self-promotion of the model worker groups.From a theoretical perspective,the fundamental reason lies in the Marxist labor theory,our Party’s policy of whole-heartedly relying on the working class,and the important remarks of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the model workers and the spirit of the model workers.At present,socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era.The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China drew a grand blueprint for the new era;by the middle of this century,China will be built into a prosperous,democratic,culturally rich,harmonious and beautiful socialist modern power,and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Nevertheless,in the face of the unprecedented changes in the world today,happiness will not come from the sky,and dreams will not come true automatically.This era is still an era of struggle,which needs the strength,functions and encouragement of the model worker spirit,so as to inspire the broad masses of working people to build a new era with down-to-earth drive,forge ahead bravely,and overcome difficulties.However,in the practical work,the promotion of the spirit of model workers in the new era has indeed encountered some difficulties and problems.This paper expounds the negative influences brought by the deviation of social cognition,social utilitarianism,pluralistic values and western ideology,analyzes the negative influences caused by the weakening of the status of ordinary workers,the sense of belonging of the working class,the weak links in the management services of model workers,and the inadequate publicity and education of model workers’ spirit.Faced with these difficulties and problems,this paper expounds that as long as the whole society persists in enriching the mind with Xi Jinping’s socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,which rely on the working class wholeheartedly,carry forward the "four most" labor spirit,that is,the most glorious,the most noble,the greatest and the most beautiful labor,and advocating the correct view of work,it can raise awareness to take the initiative of following the ideas,carry forward,inherit,and practice the spirit of model workers,and meanwhile putting forward innovative methods,policies and mechanism and favorable atmosphere to carry out the spirit of model workers in the new era. |
