Research On The Educational Role Of Model Worker Spirit In Colleges And Universities In The New Era

The model worker is a typical representative of China’s outstanding workers,and the spirit of the model worker is the concentrated embodiment of the progressiveness nature of the model worker.Entering a new era,Xi Jinping,General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee,based on the goal of cultivating socialist successors and the strategy of national rejuvenation amid global changes of a magnitude not seen in a century,attaches great importance to the educational value of the model worker spirit,with special emphasis on the importance of educating young people with model worker spirit and craftsman spirit.The spirit of model workers focuses on showing the spirit of model worker of all generations of our country who are loyal to their ideals,daring to take on responsibilities,willing to bear hardships,and willing to struggle.It is highly consistent with the development direction of young people in the new era of "having ideals,daring to take on responsibilities,being able to bear hardships,and willing to struggle".It has important model educational and spiritual incentive significance for training new people of the era who can be the great task of national rejuvenation.Standing at the new starting point of the second centennial journey,colleges and universities should implement the fundamental plan of "successors",study and implement the spiritual education of model workers as an important aspect of college education,and guide college students in the new era to grow into high-quality talents with excellent labor quality,so as to lay a solid talent foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.This study focuses on the theoretical premise,practical value and practical path for universities to play the role of model worker spirit in educating people in the new era.It mainly focuses on five parts: First,it analyzes the evolution,connotation,and characteristics of the spirit of model workers.Secondly,it further demonstrate the theoretical origin and practical needs of universities in the new era to play the role of model worker spirit in educating people.It is argued that the view of Marxism on labour,Chinese excellent traditional labor virtues,the CPC attaches importance to the working concept of giving play to the role of model workers,Xi Jinping’s Important Discussion on the Spirit of Model Workers are the theoretical sources.And the country cultivating new generation of the era,universities promoting labor education,firmly establishing a labor concept for college students in the new era are the practical basis.Thirdly,it analyzes the logical context of the role of model worker spirit in educating college students,starting with the general process of it,exploring the mechanism of it,and summarizing the positive role of model worker spirit in cultivating college students’ labor attitudes,labor emotions,labor will,and labor behavior.Fourthly,it focuses on the current situation of universities in the new era in which they play the role of model worker spirit in educating people.While fully affirming the achievements of universities in carrying out model worker spirit education,it analyzes the existing problems such as insufficient awareness of model worker spirit among college students,insufficient appeal of model worker spirit education,lack of sustainability of model worker spirit education,and fewer opportunities for college students to actually practice model worker spirit.The main reasons are that the theoretical education of model worker spirit in universities is not thorough enough,the educational form is relatively fixed,the long-term mechanism is not sound enough,and the practical education link is weak.Fifthly,proposing the optimization path from four aspects of deepening theoretical education,innovating educational forms,improving long-term mechanism,and strengthening practice cultivation,to help colleges and universities in the new era further play the role of model worker spirit in educating people.
