Lu Xun's writings have gained recognition in Thailand at the same time as Thailand was going through political instability. Some of Lu Xun's writings have reflected the notion of'Communist ideology' which at that time was banned in Thailand. As a result,Lu Xun's writings have been listed as ' prohibited collection'.Later on this had a great impact on the popularization of his writings in Thailand.Currently,in Thailand, the interest in Chinese language is growing rapidly.China and Thailand are collaborating in many areas including arts and literature,as well as research and promotion of Lu Xun's writings. However, the translated versions of Lu Xun's writings in Thai language are still facing problems which need to be improved. One major problem lies in the inability of Thai translators to convey the beauty of the language used in original texts.Apart from the point of language use, many factors contributing to such problems are being discussed in this research. The studies of Lu Xun's writings translated into Thai language are scarse. In Thailand only one arguably incomplete and non-systematic study was found. The research approach is based on comparative studies, since the interest of this research lies in the comparison of translated and original texts. The research analysis is based on the comparison of original writings to Thai translated versions, particularly in the aspect of wording. The approach of this research firstly analyses Lu Xun's writings, namely 'Na Han' and'Pang Huang',through a comparison between Chinese original texts and Thai translated texts. The research discusses two Thai translated version books:1)the combination of Luxun's writing(7th edition in 2003)published by Chinese faculty in Thammasat university. This book is regarded as the most comprehensive and completed version as it combines various pieces of Luxun's writing available in Thailand(in our research we refer to this book as 'a')2)the combination of Luxun's writing published in 1990.This book is the most being republished in Thailand. Thus, this version has gained widely recognition and inevitably has a great influence in Thailand. In the process of analysis,problems(e.g.language,culture and context)are pointed out and categorized into semantic fields. The further analysis is made on semantic fields. It was found that each semantic field can be further analyzed into various characteristics of problems. This research includes three main parts:The first part is introduction. This part includes research problems, research objectives and possible research contributions. In addition, current research progress, source of research information, research methodology, research procedure and the innovation are discussed. The second part is content. It is divided into five semantic fields, including 'name type','object class','action','attribution' and 'function word'.In each semantic field further analysis is made based on problems which can be separated into 'transliteration inaccuracy',' semantic errors',' word order','syntax','contextual mistranslation',' differences in cultural value'.The third part is problem analysis. In this part problem roots and potential problem solutions are being discussed.Problem roots are divided into two parts:cultural differences and translator problem factor. In the end it is being suggested on how to improve the quality of translation. This research not only discusses translation problems, but also includes cultural differences between China and Thailand. It also puts forward some recommendations on how to improve the quality of translation which can be applied to understand work in other related areas.
