Objective: Schizophrenia is a chronic and degenerative disease that seriously affects the quality of life and employability of patients.Employment helps improve patient's outcomes.The present study explores the employment experience of patients with schizophrenia.We try to know the feelings,difficulties of the patients for employment,and provides suggestions for improving the employment experience and the quality of life of patients in the future.Methods: We took a qualitative research method and selected patients in employment with schizophrenia to interview.A total of 9 patients were included.Interviews were mainly from the patient content,difficulty,job change,quality of work,publicevaluation,self-evaluation,benefits,awareness of disease and so on.The data obtained were analyzed by category analysis.Results: A total of 9 patients were included in the study,including 1 female and 8 males who had worked after illness and lived with their families.Among them,6 were face to face interviewed and 3 were interviewed by telephone.Using categorization analysis methods to analyze the data and established a three-level coding table,it was concluded that: 1)The disease affects patients' working ability and experience;2)The patients and other people believe that the patients' abilities were limited,which has a negative impact on the patients' employment experience;3)The patients do not want to inform others of their illness actively.Interpersonal relationship with others is generally stable,but there is still discrimination,and the patient actively avoids more communication with others.4)The patients' salaries are the same as others,and in some cases there will be additional welfare;5)Employment has many special significance for patients,and most patients have the willing to continue working.Conclusion: 1)Diseases affect the employment of patients in many aspects.Symptoms and drug side effects affect the work abilities of patients and interpersonal communications.The risk of violence affects ohters attitude toward patients.2)Public stigma influences others attitude towards patients and interacts with their own stigma,creating a vicious cycle.Increased public understanding of patients helps improve the patient's employment experience.3)The higher the degree of internalization of patient motivation,the stronger the motivation for patient employment.
