As an important organizational form of large-scale and complex engineering projects at home and abroad,general contracting is a contracting system which aims at delivering final products to the owners and implements overall conception,systematic arrangement and coordinated operation of the project.Due to the long project life cycle,complex business processes and numerous stakeholders,it is necessary for stakeholders to specialize and cooperate dynamically in order to achieve project objectives.In the value network composed of many stakeholders,when stakeholders cooperate to obtain project value,conflicts and conflicts will inevitably arise because of value distribution,among which the synergistic effect of value network becomes the key to ensure the realization of project objectives.Therefore,the governance of general contracting project is embodied in the governance of project stakeholder value network.In recent years,although the number of China's general contracting projects continues to rise,the overall system advantage of the project itself has not been fully exploited,coupled with the lack of close links among stakeholders,it is difficult to achieve the overall competitiveness of the project through effective division of labor and coordination.As the core enterprise of value network,the governance ability of the general contracting enterprise determines whether it can effectively cooperate with the cooperative enterprise to achieve the optimal performance of the project.However,the existing research on network governance capability is relatively limited,and its basic concepts such as connotation and dimension are still vague,especially in the temporary project network context,the research on the network governance capability of general contracting enterprises and its impact on project performance is even less.In view of this,based on project governance theory,social network theory and synergy theory,this study combines the research results of general contracting project management,network governance ability,interface synergy and project performance,and synthesizes the methods of literature research,grounded theory,case analysis and empirical research,from the network governance of general contracting enterprises.Beginning with the definition and measurement of the concept of rational capability,this paper explores and tests the mechanism of network governance capability of general contracting enterprises on project performance.The main contents of the study include:Firstly,the definition and measurement of network governance capability of general contracting enterprises have been completed.Based on the literature review of the concepts of general contracting enterprises' capability and network governance capability,this study uses grounded theory method to conduct in-depth research and interviews with general contracting enterprises to collect relevant data and information,and obtains the initial measurement items of network governance capability of general contracting enterprises through standardized three-level coding analysis.On this basis,through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis based on large sample data statistics,the reliability and validity of the concept dimension are tested,and finally a measurement scale of network governance ability of general contracting enterprises is formed.The results show that the network governance capability of general contracting enterprises is a second-order multi-dimensional concept with four core dimensions:network communication ability,network integration ability,network control ability and network learning ability.This not only clarifies the connotation of the concept,but also explores the network governance capability of general contracting enterprises in the future.The relationship between force and project performance and empirical research laid the foundation.Secondly,it effectively identifies the mechanism that the network governance capability of general contracting enterprises affects proj ect performance.This study uses multi-case analysis method,selects four typical cases,and analyzes the network governance capability,interface collaboration and project performance of four case enterprises through vertical case analysis.On this basis,the paper identifies the mechanism of the relationship between network governance capability,interface coordination and project performance of general contracting enterprises by cross-case horizontal comparison,and analyses the internal law.The results show that the impact of network governance capability on project performance is achieved through interface synergy effect.In network governance,the general contractor promotes the synergy effect between cooperative enterprises,and then promotes the improvement of project performance.Based on this,this study explores the relationship model of network governance capability-Interface Synergy-project performance of general contracting enterprises,and reveals the "black box" that network governance capability of general contracting enterprises affects project performance by putting forward relevant initial hypotheses.Thirdly,the relationship between network governance capability,interface coordination and project performance of general contracting enterprises is empirically tested.In this study,the initial theoretical propositions obtained from the literature review and case studies are summarized,and the relevant research hypothesis and the theoretical framework of "Network Governance Capability-Interface Collaboration-Project Performance" are put forward.The research hypothesis is validated by using structural equation model through large sample data analysis.The results show that network governance capability has a significant positive impact on interface synergy and project performance,and interface synergy also has a significant positive impact on project performance.The results of intermediary effect test show that the network governance ability of general contracting enterprises has a positive impact on project performance,and at the same time,it also promotes the improvement of project performance through interface coordination.It can be seen that the network governance capability and interface synergy of general contracting enterprises play an important role in achieving project performance.The research conclusion has a certain universality and provides a basic path for general contracting enterprises to improve project performance.The above research deepens the research of project governance theory,collaboration theory and social network theory,expands the research scope of related theories to a certain extent,and achieves the following research progress:(1)Breaking through the traditional static perspective to study project governance paradigm,using social network analysis to study the general contracting project from the network level.Project governance enriches the research of network governance in the context of temporary projects,and has a certain pioneering in theory.(2)Based on the grounded theory,this paper explores and develops the conceptual connotation,structural characterization and measurement scale of the network governance capability of general contracting enterprises,and expands the research on the network governance capability of general contracting enterprises.(3)The influence mechanism of network governance capability of general contracting enterprises on project performance in local context is explored and tested.A theoretical model of "network governance capability-interface coordination-project performance" is proposed.The intermediary role of interface coordination between the two is revealed,and the collaboration from the perspective of temporary project network governance is expanded.The same theoretical research.
