With the development of society,science and technology,economy and culture,users' needs and product characteristics have changed greatly.Users' needs for products are changing from "use of practical functions" in the past to "cognitive experience of information",and the characteristic as information carrier of product is becoming clearer.In view of the new features and trends of contemporary product and product design,from the perspective of cognitive psychology,this paper studies the basic definitions,contents,elements,structures and relationships of cognition models in product design,in order to explore and analyze the essential attributes and process attributes of contemporary product design,and further enrich and improve the theory of product design and the applied theory of cognitive psychology,which also provides the theoretical guidance for product design practice.From cognitive psychology and related theories,using literature research,case study,experimental research,system analysis and other methods,this paper studies the following five parts.Firstly,based on cognitive psychology and related theoretical research,and combining the development trend of contemporary product design,this paper redefines "product","product design","product information" and other basic concepts.Secondly,on the basis of clarifying theories related with cognitive modeling,this paper analyses three main parts of research on cognition models in product design and proposes three basic criteria of constructing cognition models in product design.Thirdly,on the basis of systematic analysis of internal and external factors influencing cognition of users and their interrelationship,this paper explores and constructs the model of user cognitive process of "trigger-acquisition-filtration-process-output",and analyzes the cognitive content of each process and their interrelationship;this paper explores and constructs the hierarchical model of user cognition of "purpose-task-information/behavior flow-information contact",and analyzes the content and method of satisfaction evaluation in each hierarchy;Fourthly,on the basis of previous research on "problem" cognitive model and "solution" cognitive model,this paper explores and constructs "UFIC" problem model of product design composed of user domain,value domain,interaction domain and representation domain,and user domain and representation domain are defined as the core problem domain of design cognition;and explores and constructs the ADGE solution model composed of analysis,definition,generation and evaluation,and the control role of the evaluation process in the model is clarified on the basis of the analysis of the basic process of solution;from the perspective of ADGE solution model,the four problem domains of UFIC's problem model are refined into 16 core design problems,and the cognitive model of "UFIC-ADGE" product design is derived.Fifthly,on the basis of the research on user awareness and cognition models in product design,combined with case analysis,the four dimensions of core creation,scope creation,logic creation and performance creation of product system representation are proposed and divided into 12 innovation paths.From the perspective of cognitive psychology,this paper further defines the basic concepts in product design,clarifies the connotation of cognition models in product design,puts forward the process and hierarchical model of user cognition,the problems,solutions and process model of product design cognition and the representation creation dimension of product system,further enriches and improves the product design theory and the application theory of cognitive psychology;at the same time,this paper helps designers understand the basic attributes of product design,clarify the research connotation of user,expand the dimension of design innovation,optimize the design process and design management in the process of design practice,which has a certain theoretical significance and practical application value.
