In the consumer guided market, the consumers' physiological needs, the psychological needs and spiritual needs of clothing play vital roles for the clothing products design. The traditional model of products design, production and sales have been unable to meet the current situation.A collaborative design concept based on consumers' perceptual demand for clothing products emerges at the right moment. The research is carried out from the three elements of fashion design, such as formation, color and fabric. The perceptual analysis mainly adopts the methods of questionnaire survey,7 point scoring method, principal component factor analysis, quantitative I theory, regression statistics and so on.The design elements are divided into 65 elements in the analysis of fashion formation elements, which are set up in the elements table.Analysed by the scores of adjectives by the invested subjects, two fashion formation styles as trends and temperament are obtained, and the regression relationship between the formation design style factors and the various design elements was determined through quantitative I theory, which can be used for classifying the various formation elements. The perceptual analysis of color is based on the classification of clothing styles.Eight common styles of clothing are finally obtained through questionnaires. The color value of samples are extracted to be placed in the P.C.C.S color space. So the relationships between color values and clothing styles are demonstrated in the PCCS color space basing on these data.In addition, eight clothing styles' color values of hue, saturation and brightness are analyzed to give the color chosen area, which can help beginners choosing color when they design the clothes. For the perceptual analysis of fabrics, color processing is used to avoid the perceptual influences of colors on fabric texture, then score the perceptual adjectives for fabrics, and finally form the two principal components of fabrics, texture and morphology.Fabric samples are divided into three categories by cluster analysis. All the classification results helps to the database classification of collaborative design.Basing on the perceptual analysis of garment,a garment cooperative design system based on perceptual matching is built. The collaborative design includes database of formation elements, colors, fabrics, industrial patterns, production docoments, and model fitting experience. The interface of collaborative design is divided into two types, one type is easily for users to choose base on the consumers' pereference, another one needs users to do the selection of perceptual elements. Both kinds of interfaces are taken into account the perceptual demand of consumer users. The second one gets deeper understanding of consumers and lets consumers invoving the clothing design.Consumers can choose the elements according to the recommendation and assemble them together. The consumer experience activities stimulate the design interests of consumers in a certain degree, and increase the desirement of purchase, and easily repeated. From the perspective of clothing enterprises, the collaborative design of clothing based on perceptual matching provides consumers with a platform of clothing design experience and dress experience that consumers can participate in,which can attract more consumers' experience and purchase. From the perspective of clothing enterprises, the collaborative design of clothing increases the consumers' interests of designing and purchasing, and strengthen the feeling of confidence and achievement by wearing the selves designing clothes. They get a great sense of satisfaction in both the spiritual and the material fields.
